You nailed it my friend. Clearly you pay close attention to the game & for that you should be commended. I like folks that come into a conversation prepared.
As for Joshua's first title defense, yeah, the pickings are pretty damned slim.
The winner of Parker-Takam would be a good match, but with them fighting May 21, that's too quick of a turnaround.
And, as it's likely Parker that emerges from that one the victor, I tend to think that his people will want to take a bit more time with him before putting him in a world title fight.
Chisora-Pulev winner would be OK, but again, July 9 is too soon after that bout.
Glazkov will likely be given a shot as soon as his knee is mended, but who knows when that will be?
Ruiz is still fighting 8 rounders against journeymen & is scheduled to face TBA May 14. There's no way he's ready.
Helenius just got KO'd by Duhaupas, so he's obviously out. But the Frenchman is certainly a good possibility. Especially since he extended Wilder into the 11th, so there's that compare & contrast appeal.
Haumono isn't rated by the IBF ( nor should be IMO ).
Then there's Dom Breazeale & "Baby" Miller who're rated #14 & #15. I don't think either man has anything sceduled, so they could be possibilities as well.

That's AJ's first defence right there
one of those two.
I reckon Stiverne or Ruiz or something similar will be his second and the Takam/Parker/Chisora/Pulev fights will lead to his first mandatory.
Then he'll realise, Haye is looking a bit old 18 months from now and realise it's worth it for the massive pay day
I could easily see a Wilder or Fury unification (providing those 2 and Joshua are still champions then) in 2 years at the earliest

It's Miller or Breazeale. The easiest ones, and they will not refuse to PPV money anyone who step to the ring with Joshua gets (Martin received 2.5-3 millions from Sky PPV only).
The kid is money magnet

Should Parker make short work of takam I hope a fight with Joshua can be made sooner rather than later... But that's a big "should"

With my tin foil hat on...
We haven't had the rankings for April yet. Teper should be taken off if he is still banned. Helenius just lost to someone out of the top 15 so he should be off too. Joshua is now the Champion and there is no-one at #1 or #2. For me that allows for at least five potential additions to the next IBF Top 15.
I'm waiting to see if anyone sneaks onto that list who stands out because I reckon that's who it'll be.

Surely we all know they will choose the opponent, then add him to the list. So it could be anyone.

I have to say the pickings are very slim. I know Sky have already prioritised Joshua for the summer PPV, but they'll do well to get one worthy of a PPV. Maybe it's a good opportunity to get AJ on a non-PPV showing before the likes of Parker and Haye come around in December/early 2017.
If he doesn't have a decent opponent he'll struggle to fill Wembley and sell PPV. I don't know what fighters that are left, that will achieve one of those things. The only thing I can think of is Hughie Fury. At least they have leverage on the public on that one. Cousin of Fury, British undefeated prospect.

I like Stiverne for a match up but hasn't he been idle since the Wilder fight? Why not Ortiz?

Breazeale is not even gatekeeper-worthy. He should have lost his last fight, and looked poor. Joshua needs rounds, and he is not going past 2 or 3.

A bit of Eddie Hearn spin and Breazeale becomes a unbeaten American Olympian who could be the future of the heavyweight division if he beats AJ.
Easy sell to the sky PPV casual.

Malik Scott is being banded around. I would say this fight is about 10-1 that there is a 4th round.

Briggs would be a shite fight but it would be a stadium sell out, Shannon has invested a lot of time, money and energy in promoting himself into a $1,000,000 entity without actually fighting. Its nearly 10 years since he beat a top 100 opponent, only 1 in 100 people will care about that. Lets go champ.

Actually, it could be an exciting fight. More exciting than Joshua vs. Martin, at least.

I know Haye hasn't done anything to warrant a shot a trinket, but he's talked a good game since embarking on his retirement tour & I want to see him fight someone who isn't certified dead for a change.
It would be an easy sell too.
Haye has already said it will not be him.
Where?

Knowing MisMatchRoom they wil want to get a risk-free first defence for Joshua. His name alone sells so no need to risk future pay-days with a guy like Haye or Pulev.
I think Chisora is rather low risk and sells well, Del Boy is good box office after his past antics.

Unification with Browne? Unless Browne gets stripped and/or suspended. But I dunno if I trust Chechnyan drug test results.

Because nobody thinks he's going to fight him next.
