This will only be the second fight that he's able to weigh this much a 155.
It will be the 5th fight at 155 for Canelo.
You said at his best, seeing that his fight night weight is so much above this self-made limit it isn't beyond possibility that his best weigh in weight is now above 155.
I'm an idiot. I was referring to what Canelo actually weighed on the scale during weigh ins and my intel was bad. He's weighed in a 155 three times before so this will be his 4th. These Boxers and MMA guys have ways to strip their bodies of large amounts of water weight a day or two leading up to the fight and they have it down to a science. I've heard of some MMA fighters stripping off 20 pounds of water weight over night, weighing in and then replenish back up immediately. They say the key is to replace the water loss as fast as possible. So the body is not missing it for very long and it bounces back faster.

I think Canelo is one of these guys and his performances don't seem to be hindered by his rapid weight loss and gain. This is why i'd like to see boxers make weight the night before fight and have to weigh in the day of the fight as well. GIve them an 8 pound allowance for fight night weigh in. This would keep people like Canelo from abusing the system. One day, a boxer will get hurt in the ring for giving up too much weight to his opposition on fight night and it will become a priority. Right now, making weight is a joke because there's so many ways to lose artificial weight.
