Hearn is using the Bruno blueprint of humbleness whilst being a big punching destroyer.... But he's giving it a modern polish and making the sell slightly more sophisticated and less 'Uncle Tom'. But the same schtick ultimately
Is Joshua capable of being a proper "Uncle Tom"?
Joshua's essence screams aggression, Black nationalism, hatred and violence.
Being an undefeatable juggernaut seems to be his main selling point.

Please reread my post. Definitely he would not be marketed as an Uncle Tom....that's too crude and won't sell. But it's a new twist on the old 'huge, muscular, violent black man who's humble and gentle in real life. But still retains that 'street' edge as he has Stormzy to keep it real. It's a crude approach to us educated, cynical boxing fans, but will work on the layman....
If Stiverne is still hooked-up with Don King then Fast Eddie had better take Papa Hearn along....otherwise he'll wake-up one morning and discover he owns precisely 5 per cent of AJ for the next decade and is missing his Hublot!

Eddie Hearn has revealed a three-man shortlist of US-based fighters as he considers opponents for Anthony Joshua's first defence of the IBF title.
Promoter Hearn is hoping to build Joshua's profile in the United States and has named a trio of possible foes: former WBC champion Bermane Stiverne (25-2-1-KO21), Eric Molina (25-3-KO19) and Dominic Breazeale (17-0-KO15).
"The IBF put out their new rankings today and we have to box someone in the top 15 of those rankings," Hearn told Sky Sports.
"We expect from those rankings the likes of Bermane Stiverne, Eric Molina, Dominic Breazeale. Those kind of people will be in the mix. There has been big interest from US broadcasters in Anthony Joshua. I think a US opponent makes sense for us.
"He wants to go in with a real test and a bigger test than what he has been facing so far. The likes of those guys will provide that opportunity.
"Stiverne is a solid fighter. Eric Molina is just coming off a big win against Tomasz Adamek, a good fighter, went 10 rounds with Deontay Wilder and rocked him in the fight as well. Breazeale is dangerous, 17-0, 15 knockouts, 6ft 8in Olympian, so these are real guys and he wants a real fight."
I cannot believe that Derek Chisora is the 8th best heavyweight in the world. I know at least 6 or 7 door men that could kick his ass. Surely thats a mistake, Derek Chisora 8th best heavyweight boxer in the world?

You are wrong.
point taken
Incidentially, horse, where would you rank Chisora, in todays world boxing?
I don't see it happening. Stiverne doesn't bring anything to the table in terms of cross over appeal. He's a former champion, but no one has heard of him outside boxing fans.
IMO a fighter with an unbeaten record would be an easier sell.
Hmmmm.

3 Erkan Teper - Banned
4 Carlos Takam - Booked
5 Joseph Parker - Booked
6 Kubrat Pulev - Booked
7 Vyacheslav Glazkov - Injured?
8 Derek Chisora - Booked
9 Andy Ruiz - Booked, but could cancel.
10 Charles Martin - Done 11 Johan Duhaupas
12 David Haye - Booked. 13 Dominic Breazeale 14 Eric Molina 15 Jarrell Miller
Not much left to choose from. The IBF will probably make an accommodation as the top two spots are blank.

I'd love to see that negotiation being televised live. Don King would leave Eddie just wearing his pants speaking to sky saying he got a great deal for Joshua.

King's ancient, and has a very thin stable these days, he's not in a position of strength to dictate terms with anyone any more. He's a peripheral figure in boxing these days.
