Fury is the legit heavyweight champion of the world, Joshua holds a bullshit title stripped from Fury, a title they wouldn't have stripped from Klitschko had he won.

If Tyson Fury had a more exciting style, and didn't behave so foolishly outside the ring (making stupid and offensive comments) then the thread starter would have a stronger argument.

Its not about race, its simply a matter of marketability, Joshua is much more marketable to the general public on both sides of the Atlantic.

If Fury gets by Wlad (which he should) he will also reap the benefits of any lucrative TV deal Joshua signs with either broadcaster when they meet in a unification.

What would that mean for fights not being able to happen? I guess Haymon could still work out fights down the line with Fury, Parker, Haye, Povetkin, WIlder, but not Ortiz?

Fury is borderline unmarketable because of his behaviour and fighting style, not his skin colour or religious beliefs.

Lots of media personalities are religious, not all of them are backwards to the point of being misogynistic, demonising homosexuals and abortion or actually taking their holy books seriously. Fury is just that thick that he spouts whatever comes into his head, with him being a moron that means he spews a lot of dumb crap which people don't like. Like it or not the world has moved on from the awful fire and brimstone morals of Christianity, maybe Fury should too.

He also looks like a stretched Homer Simpson and since his scares from Cunningham, Firtha and Pajkic he fights as a retreating counter-puncher. But Larry didn't look so awful playing. It's a much different dynamic with Fury. I believe you are way off on why Fury is not being as accepted as you would like to see.

When D'Amato and Jacobs died, so did Mike Tyson as a fighter. Firing Kevin Rooney iced the cake of Tyson's down bound train.

The general public and most casual boxing fans love to see knockouts and blood and thunder over skills. They wouldn't understand levels if you talk to them non stop for a month. Joshua is a media / hype mans dream, knocking over cans.

..it's strictly a business decision... the US networks might think among other things that "nice" black guy will bring them in the long run more profit than "bad" white guy..

Tyson Fury is antiestablishment. The boxing establishment likes a good work ethic - fighters who train consistently and talk about winning. TF recently said something like, "I don't care if I lose. I've already accomplished my goals." Not exactly Dale Carnegie stuff.
