Nothing. Ekatinburg is no world metropolis and I just thought it quite a coincidence that the town will in all likelihood be home to the LHW champion on the 100th anniversary of one of the country's most infamous events. I just found that to be interesting. I don't know why I mentioned. I wouldn't say wantonly killing innocent women & children is a good thing. And I do not hold human life (in general) particularly sacred. I don't care that strangers were murdered 100 years ago but I wouldn't check it off as a positive in my journal. Though I wouldn't judge anyone who did either.Tarkus wrote:Why not? Only good thing communist ever done for that country. What does it have to do with boxing though?thomasjkelley wrote: Ekatininburg is Kovalev's hometown Ike? I didn't know that. We are coming up on the 100th anniversary of the massacre of the Romanov family very shortly. I don't know how Russians feel about it but that has certainly got to be one of the most significant moments in Russian history. Though probably not something they want to celebrate. If he's still champion maybe they'll hold a fight on the 100th anniversary in the Urals.
It will sound just like the Klitschko/Fury fight.Lancenix wrote:They will hold a 20 minute moment of silence after the national anthems are played that night in memory of the Tishinek massacre.thomasjkelley wrote:Ekatininburg is Kovalev's hometown Ike? It is not even in Moscow, but in Ekaterinburg, Kova's home town.

Which LHW opponents wouldn't be totally mismatched against Kovalev?ClivePatrickLyons wrote:This is another bullshit fight a total mismatch the only thing i hope that happens is that poor Isaac get every cent that is his.
Only 2-3: Beterbiev, Ward and possibly Stevenson.crusader wrote:Which LHW opponents wouldn't be totally mismatched against Kovalev?ClivePatrickLyons wrote:This is another bullshit fight a total mismatch the only thing i hope that happens is that poor Isaac get every cent that is his.
You can work that out and you can watch this mismatch all you want I only watch fight's when I don't know who is going to winikorolev wrote:Only 2-3: Beterbiev, Ward and possibly Stevenson.crusader wrote:Which LHW opponents wouldn't be totally mismatched against Kovalev?ClivePatrickLyons wrote:This is another bullshit fight a total mismatch the only thing i hope that happens is that poor Isaac get every cent that is his.

Bellew beat him in the rematch, i think i had Chilemba winning close the first time, iirc.
Either way Chilemba sucks, he is evasive in a kind of clumsy Tyson-Fury kind of way. Kovalev's boxing is underrated, he landed solid shots in most rounds against B-Hop who is 100x trickier and evasive than Chilemba ever could be.
Kovalev inside 5, easy ko.
Fury utilised several physical advantages such as size/reach/youth/speed. None of which Chilemba has over Kovalev.IKSRTFO wrote: You don't see the irony of this? Tyson Fury just beat an unstoppable dominant champ by being clumsy.
More importantly, Wlad fights like a pussy unlike Kova.Ricky_ wrote:Fury utilised several physical advantages such as size/reach/youth/speed. None of which Chilemba has over Kovalev.IKSRTFO wrote: You don't see the irony of this? Tyson Fury just beat an unstoppable dominant champ by being clumsy.
Bit of an oxymoron, that.ikorolev wrote:More importantly, Wlad fights like a pussy unlike Kova.Ricky_ wrote:Fury utilised several physical advantages such as size/reach/youth/speed. I have to admit that Povetkin appeared to be getting swallowed by a giant vulva for much of the WKlit fight.punchoutsb wrote:Bit of an oxymoron, that.ikorolev wrote:More importantly, Wlad fights like a pussy unlike Kova.Ricky_ wrote:

Anywhere but Oakland I'd be happy withEvander wrote:Not a run of the mill defence but Kovalev is expected to win.
November 19th is apparently penciled in for Vegas or NYC Kovalev v Ward.
