Re: Mayweather Jr - Did he ever lose?

People say pacman was so far past his best when him and floyd fought but he just beat the shit out of Bradley who's been a top five welterweight for a few years now
True, but I think it's clear he wasn't the whirlwind Manny that threw loads of punches and knocked guys out. He was still an elite boxer, but his power didn't seem to be there to the same extent and he'd become much more reserved in his attacks, which explains the long string of decision wins.craigjenkins05 wrote:People say pacman was so far past his best when him and floyd fought but he just beat the poo out of Bradley who's been a top five welterweight for a few years now
I'd like to think that the pinnacle of his PED use Manny would have pressed Floyd, probably wouldn't have. Same with Chavez/Whitaker.crusader wrote:True, but I think it's clear he wasn't the whirlwind Manny that threw loads of punches and knocked guys out. Not that he would've ever beaten Mayweather, but I think he would've stood a better chance several years earlier IMO. You can say Floyd wasn't at his best either, but I think the changes in Pac were more pronounced and of a nature that hurt him more.
Damn bro, you missed the last nine rounds!Stevieb8006 wrote:De la Hoya deserved the nod.

I agree butJohnL wrote:De La Hoya controlled their fight with the jab. Deserved the win. Castillo bulled him all over the ring also.
I might watch Maidana Mayweather tonight. I missed them. Was it the first or the second where he really took it to him and put him under? First I think....jezzamundo wrote:I had Castillo beating him 115-111 although I acknowledge it could be scored closer, that's the one that stands out the most. I have no problem with anyone scoring the first Maidana fight against him either, though I had it a draw. I scored the Pacquiao fight to Floyd by a single point, but could see it wider to Floyd. The Judah fight was closer than the cards indicate too - Zab could be given five rounds (though I gave him four) and should have been credited with a KD.
To answer your question, yes, once, to Castillo.
Yeah Not sure why De La Hoya got stiffed on that one as he was the bigger name. I have seen highlights as well as the full fight several times and I belive Oscar won by 2 clear rounds.Stevieb8006 wrote:De la Hoya deserved the nod. Castillo obviously.
I disagree that Oscar got stiffed - it was a close fight that could have gone either way and the decision was fair. I had Floyd winning by one point.reggaereggae wrote:Yeah Not sure why De La Hoya got stiffed on that one as he was the bigger name. Regardless I wonder if he dressed in women's underwear afterwards?

Wonder how much Maidana got from fighting Floyd two times.......more than a few world champs I shouldn’t wonder. Good on him
