Worst Rankings ever the best 2 heavyweights in the World Wlad and Tyson arent even ranked... Wlad undisputed king and wrongly stripped Tyson.. Joke off a organisation the Matchroom sponsored IBF

In fairness not ranking belt holders is fairly standard. I think they are more supposed to be about working your way up to a shot rather than actually the best, though these clowncar rankings shouldn't be used even for that.

With places 1 and 2 empty and the next 4 in eliminators to fill the top 2 spots spots, that effectively means that Glazkov will be No 3 next month and Martin No 5. They will be in eliminators before 2016 ends and one could be mandatory for Joshua by early next year.

Thats this many. 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1. thats 13, thats 13 men, only 13 men in the world are better than Hughie Fury, 13, 1 and 3 make 13, its 13.
If you ignore Povetkin, Wilder, Tyson, Klitschko, Ortiz, and have a bit of drawish guys between 15 and 25, then yes 13 could become what you get. Also who knows there are way lower ranked fighters that will simply need more time to prove themself, like Whyte, Spong, that Chinese Ortiz, can't remember his name and so on.

Agree with this. Particularly if it's Pulev and he deals with him better than Wlad did. (Or Chisora and deals with him better than Haye did).

I was referring to a defence for Joshua, not Fury.

Am I the only one that thinks that Top 15 isn't too bad as governing body rankings go. Especially by IBF standards.

I've certainly seen worse. I mean, at least everyone in this top 15 (well, 13) is actually alive.

That's because there are way too many weightclasses out there, somehow the heavyweight division is too much interesting for such big mistakes

I believe fighters involved in a matchup for another world title are removed from the rankings -- hence no Wlad or Pov.
That Said if EH and Joshua want to fight gimmes for a while the IBF rankings are full of them. And who has Parker fought to be ranked 3? I'm certain that with the right promoter any HW with a 15-0 record can get a top 15 abc ranking... even if he'd fought my nan all 15 times.

I just think it's an unnecessary risk to take at this point. If I was AJ's promoter, I wouldn't take that fight unless it was a mandatory.
Is AJ ready? It's hard to tell as there are still so many questions yet to be answered.
It's the same when Sascha Povetkin lamps Wilder. No way I would put AJ in with Povetkin.

I'll see how Pulev looks against Chisora, but I think he's a bit overrated; he's a solid boxer with snappy punches, but he isn't a big hitter, particularly tough to hit, or especially durable. It wouldn't be a Martin/Breazeale gimme defense, but I don't think Joshua needs to be wrapped in wool and he has shown me enough that I'd favour him over Pulev. With a convincing win in that bout he'd gain significantly more credibility, and I think that's worth the amount of risk that accompanies taking the fight.
Also, I didn't mean 'good' simply in terms of what minimizes risk for team AJ. If that was my mindset I'd applaud bouts against people like Martin and Breazeale, but I'm not.

Chisora is finished at top level and I would be stunned if Pulev didn't stop him in this fight.
As I just said in another thread. Out of the boxers in the IBF rankings, only four are available on that date and two of them have already been stopped by Wilder. Breazeale is as good as anyone else available.

Actually, I think he's probably a worse fighter than Duhaupas and he has no performance as impressive as the latter's destruction of Helenius, but given that he's a big, unbeaten Olympian with a high KO ratio I imagine that he's an easier sell to the casuals.
Either way it seemed like pretty slim picking given who was available.

Perhaps, or they are young, or they simply don't have the skills to achieve much higher ranks, either way, it's just a different route, Wilder never boxed someone in his first 25 matches either.

I just hope some bum doesn't jump into their none ranked 1 and 2 positions out of nowhere and we see Joshua defending his title against no-hopers.
