Far too live an opponent I'd fancy him to beat Smith.

Yeah it would be a real test that's for sure! Soro is on a cracking run of form and has had two good wins away from home so I'm sure he'd travel over here no problems. I checked his record the other day and noticed he's not fought in nearly a year though. Two good wins so would've expected him to kick on and build from that. Strange one. Don't know if he's injured or what?

He's learning sod all fighting these chumps though.

He should at least be trying to fight opposition that is better than domestic level to try to learn something.

If he's given a tough mandatory then he is buggered.
i know its frustrating, i would of prefered him to hold on to a lesser title and defend the sh1t out of it a bit like hatton did with that WBU title he had

Soro had contractual issues with Top Rank that he's just got free of and it appears he's now injured, already had a fight lined up later this month.

I think you might be underrating Bundrage a bit.

I'd say that he'd be a risk.
Saldivia did you not forget he got sparked in a round by a jab off Kell Brook. The fact he is 23 on this site either says the rankings here are mental or the weight is pretty poor.
He's still better than anyone Smith has faced so far and would be an acceptable "step-up" opponent imo. Like I said, he's been rushed to a world title and the Andrades and Charlos will be too much for him. He should be fighting guys in the top 30 though.

Hell, Macklin or Brian Rose would be better choices.

I have to say that I have never known someone get such an easy route to a world title, win it against a terrible fighter who had such a rubbish record and defend it against such an unqualified opponent and now this. Boxing stinks sometimes and to think of the good fighters out there who can't get a shot at a world title, because they are not connected.

Yeah it's baffling how out of all the available fighters to fight for the vacant belt, WBO picked Liam Smith and John Thompson. I wouldn't put Smith in the top 30 and Thompson wouldn't crack the top 50.

Warren has always had a good relationship with the WBO, if you know what I mean lol ?

He has - and FW also wanted to show the other Scouse ingrates (the other Smiths and Boomer ) what they were missing after leaving the great over-lord to seek greener grass with the fake tanned coiffured one.

Champion - Liam Smith

1. Austin Trout
2. Miguel Cotto
3. Demetrius Andrade
4. Oleksandr Spirko
5. Vanes Martirosyan
6. Yuki Nonaka
7. Sirimongkol Singwancha
8. Gary Corcoran
9. Michel Soro
10. Willie Nelson
11. Predrag Radosevic
12. Ahmet Patterson
13. Liam Williams
14. Stephan Horvath
15. Dennis Hogan

Why doesn't Warren put Smith in with one of his three British fighters that are in the rankings?

Surely those fights would make more money and they'd also be more credible opponents for Smith.

How marketable is Smith?

Would he make Warren more money as champion than the other three?

I'd say slightly more so. The Welsh are generally awful at supporting their fighters (I am Welsh)

No Mate - Paul and Steven were both with Frank before they fucked off along with Boomer.

From that point Frank was going to get Liam a world title one way or another to prove a point.

Hard to find a decent sized venue in Wales for a world title fight.
Calzaghe sold out Wales well!!
Hope the ice arena show is a success on Saturday.
