Having watched fight again Parker definately won fight.
Takam almost looked befuddled in some rounds and I think that is due to the solid punches he was taking from Parker.
Takam put pressure on Parker in spots which I feel Parker sometimes had trouble with and took too many hits . Against
a harder puncher he would have had his chin really tested
That being said Takam's chin was tested over and over and stood
up
so who wins joseph parker v carlos takam ?

I had Parker by 117-111.
Takam put in a credible performance though.
Defensively Parker is horrible. Really leaves his chin up in the air.
Looks like Matchroom are looking at Whyte-Parker on a AJ undercard later in the year.
That's a lot closer fight than Matchroom and Team Parker expect. Whyte is all wrong for Parker.

Whyte is one of the most overrated guys in the division; he basically had one good moment against AJ and that's it. He's beaten nothing but recycled trial horses (when Parker fought guys like Minto they at least had some recent form to them)and dross fighters with inflated records (e.g. Beka Lobjanidze, who was later stopped in 29 seconds by Chisora). As uninspiring as Parker's wins over Sherman Williams, Kali Meehan, and Bowie Tupou may seem now, all three of those are probably superior to any victory of Whyte's.
I'll conceed that although DW's opponents have been stopped loads of times he seems to have respectable power, and he took AJ's shots fairly well, but apart from solid power and durability I think he's a very limited fighter and I would like to see how he would fare against a tough guy like Takam; Takam is more skilled and I think he'd take the power well.

Looks like match room won't get there way. Parker is now ranked no.1 contender in the IBF. He is looking at a potentially big money winnable fight against Haumono and then we should be seeing Joshua Parker after that.PredatorHayds wrote:

That's the IBF and team Parkers route, I don't know who the hell match room thinks they're controlling but it's certainly not team Parker.

He's got time to squeeze a fight in between the mandatory.foxdog1923 wrote:Looks like match room won't get there way. Parker is now ranked no.1 contender in the IBF. With the fight being on PPV it makes business sense to have him in the UK on a Joshua undercard later in the year.

Well it's Haumono on July 21st and he should come through that then looking at Joshua for November. There's a 5 month gap there between Haumono and Joshua but at least Parkers keeping busy. I don't know if they'll try and squeeze in Whyte in that 5 months as they might just focus on the title.PredatorHayds wrote:He's got time to squeeze a fight in between the mandatory.foxdog1923 wrote:Looks like match room won't get there way. Whyte and Chisora have had a coming together.
Expect that to be the next AJ undercard attraction.

Be that as it may, Parker is fighting again in 6 weeks after the Takam fight!! But it's against a lesser opponent but one that commands respect in the form of Solomon Haumono. After that, who knows might squeeze someone else in there. Considering Parkers age of 24 and the amount of fights he's had and the quality of opposition for his age, if things go wrong, the rush will be most likely to blame.PredatorHayds wrote:24 hours is a long time in boxing.foxdog1923 wrote:Well it's Haumono on July 21st and he should come through that then looking at Joshua for November. Yes heard about the talks with a possible Chisora/Whyte clash. Definitely will be a good fight. I wonder if it'll be on the Breazeale undercard.

Not Breazale undercard probably the next one.
Biggest positive for Parker is his activity.
He's got things he needs to learn and he realises the best place to learn is in the ring.
