Pretty sure Froch-Taylor was the opening bout if the Super-Six tournament, rather than a voluntary/mandatory.
Bobby Gunn I think but not 100%.Autobarn wrote:Is that Calzaghe-Pudwill and Maccarinelli-Lamontagne?
It was the previous fight before SS,Froch won a contentious SD over Dirrell in his opening bout and Taylor got KO'd in the last again by AbrahamRJP wrote:Pretty sure Froch-Taylor was the opening bout if the Super-Six tournament, rather than a voluntary/mandatory.
And 16 years since he fought The Pitbull which adds even more emphasis to how ridiculous this match up really is.black panther wrote:Good post. To add even more emphasis to your point, it was in 2005 (eleven years ago) that Fana was destroyed by a past it Barrera.Autobarn wrote:I thought they reserved "teak tough" for Ghanaians.
Yeah this is very bad. I couldn't watch most of FW's challengers for Calzaghe, Maccarinelli, Hatton (WBU), Gary Lockett (WBU) back when I spent a lot of money on Sky Sports.
Fana was destroyed some 7 years ago by Barrera down at super feather, in only a couple of rounds.
Meanwhile Crolla is coming off destructions of Barroso, Perez and could be heading toward unification with Linares...

Maybe he was.crusader wrote:Wasn't Taylor Froch's mandatory?
No, Froch was having this caliber of fights, 2 fights before the super 6 began, the thrillers with Pascal and Taylor.RJP wrote:Pretty sure Froch-Taylor was the opening bout if the Super-Six tournament, rather than a voluntary/mandatory.
i was listening to it on the radio.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Fantastic never to be forgotten finish. I was leaping round the living room like a madman.Autobarn wrote: Froch's last ditch rally was one of my absolute favourite boxing moments.
love Froch v Taylor and pascal. Tremendous fights, both. The Pascal fight may have got fight of the year had Vazquez and Marquez not fought again that year.jamesmcdonnell wrote:One of the best results by a British fighter ever in my book.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Fantastic never to be forgotten finish. Was chuffed when Froch recaptured this form after the super 6, against Bute, Kessler and Groves.
Yep. Just checked and you're 100% correct. Watched both the Pascal and Taylor (ITV2 on 24 hour delay) fights on free-to-air (remember that?).Autobarn wrote:No, Froch was having this caliber of fights, 2 fights before the super 6 began, the thrillers with Pascal and Taylor.RJP wrote:Pretty sure Froch-Taylor was the opening bout if the Super-Six tournament, rather than a voluntary/mandatory.

Fighting a shit guy who is a champ - No complaints.Taansend wrote:The bloke that Smith just fought against Charles Martin.

So you're saying a draw?jameswilson wrote:Fighting a poo guy who is a champ - No complaints.Taansend wrote:The bloke that Smith just fought against Charles Martin.

Fighting a poo guy for a vacant title - No complaints.
Fighting a poo guy for your first defence to get some easy money - Not delighted but if I was a promoter I'd probably do it myself so no complaints.
Fighting poo voluntaries endlessly - Complaints.
Arguably he stopped promoting a while back and just never announced it.lefty wrote:I don't know why Frank bothers promoting anymore. He should just focus his money and time on the channel and securing international rights to the best fights. That's what the channel is best for imo. No, he should put more effort into promoting and put on better and more regular shows.lefty wrote:I don't know why Frank bothers promoting anymore. He's hardly got any fighters worth caring about now. That where would he display them if he took the money out of the channel to put on better shows?Horse wrote:No, he should put more effort into promoting and put on better and more regular shows.lefty wrote:I don't know why Frank bothers promoting anymore.
