That's the thing, there's no other payday at middleweight. Eubank should just go up to 168 and try and get in the mix with groves/smith/murray or something

Nah, surely this will never happen.

Apart from the fact that as mentioned, few people would put up with their negotiating style but also Snr wasn't so bold in his own career (and I am a fan of his) then I can't see him being so bold with his son involved.

They will make out that they want the fight, get some publicity, GGG and his people will eventually get fed up and move on to somebody else and the Eubanks will then claim that Golovkin doesn't want the fight blah blah blah

Was he though as bullish about his own abilities then as he is about his sons now? I've heard him say that he did not have ambition to truly go for World honors. With Jr though it is a different story. He constantly makes those outrageous claims. I mean things he says makes Amir Khan sound like a model of humility. He must believe them, no?

Same here, if words were silver and gold, we'd all be rich.

GGG is running out of opponents so WHEN they get offered the fight we will see if they back their talk up and take the fight.

Personally I would be targeting Canelo if I were Eubank Jr. Canelo won't be bothered about a catch weight, Eubank is a recognised name in the US through his dad, he has the advantage of being a full blow middle weight plus it's big money and has a title.

Id give him a fair shot against Canelo, even if he loses on points his stock will have risen and he would have gained experience at world level.

Or go for Jacobs where I think he is in with a better shot of winning.

He certainly wasn't a mega star over there but him and Benn are well known by boxing fans. I would expect even if he isnt known by the casuals over the pond it's a handy marketing tool old interviews between James Toney, World title legacy etc

i agree, Sr doesn't get to me in the slightest, i find him highly entertaining and occasionally thought provoking. Agree at times, wholly disagree at other times. The sport is poorer without him. Jr needs him in my view, not just for interest put for advice when it comes to the crunch.

bottom line is boxing would be poorer without the likes of eubank snr, cant tell you the amount of times my boss at work has dragged me into his office to show me some bullsh!t interview with eubank/fury/mayweather, the casuals love all that stuff and lets face it as much as I hate all that poo it helps keep the sport alive

Sr is a knob who's anything but truthful,he's making it out he's protecting his son when really he's using his sons career as a platform to perform and show off,nothing he says his truthful or honest,all he tries to be is clever and insightful when he is neither because if he was then he wouldnt have to take a 40 minute pause to answer a question searching for the biggest word to use

He couldnt even let his guard down when getting asked about Ali the day of his death,he was still acting like a pompous arse,he probably has some great stories to tell about his own life but he's forever in a cycle of trying to be smart when really he comers across as a condesending cock

He claims to be concerned solely about Jr's career which im sure is true to a certain extent but it seems to me he's more corcerned about getting himself shown on screen or in the papers,otherwise he would've been giving his son advice inbetween rounds instead of swanning into centre ring stroking his chin,also remarks like he made today about Caldwell will harm Jr's career than help it because people will switch off

Chris Jr does seem strong willed but i dont know if he feeds of hate the way his dad does,infact apart from the occasional posing he does,along with the decent chin,i cant see any real similarities between father and son,although Jr might do well to remember that because trying to be someone else could harm his career

Sr was a tough SOB though i'll give him that,i just think his own ego outweighs what he wants for his son,overpowering parents are ok if your still a kid to stop you going astray but in adulthood they just need guidance and the occasional bollocking if their getting out of hand,Jr seems a sensible adult so i see no need to Dad to be constantly on his shoulder

I do agree about Sr being good for the sports publicity but dont call him truthful,its all an act and the worlds a stage
