He used it when he wasn't to scared to. When he wasn't frozen with fear he showed an impressive skillset.

Breazeale has lots of heart, but lacks talent.
Not bothered to watch it yet, but from the reports he soaked up a hell of a beating before finally succumbing.

You don't win an Olympic Gold Medal and go undefeated for a long stretch without talent.
Audley did have talent, just not enough talent and heart to get to the top. People tend to exaggerate; there is plenty of room between great and being a "bum."

"just looking at how [Joshua] looks better against poor opposition isn't reliable"
It depends on who's doing the looking...
You could see Joe Frazier would fall through his ass against a big powerful puncher -- even though he won all his previous fights and beat Muhammad Ali... You could tell Ali would have trouble against a master-boxer, even though he never faced one until the met Larry Holmes... You knew Floyd Patterson was in trouble when he signed to fight Sonny Liston... If you were Max Schmeling, you spotted a vulnerability when you watched Joe Louis... When you watched Klitschko you knew people like Fury, Joshua, or Ortiz were going to spell trouble for him... When you watched Lewis you knew a great right hand puncher could ice him... Emmanuel Steward spotted that accurately for his boxer Oliver McCall.
As far as the holes that may be apparent in Anthony Joshua???? ... It's harder to spot them. He's working on closing them all the time.
But you're right. When AJ's faced Breazeale, he's ripped apart a man who had 17 flaws... But Joshua exploited all of them ... Breazeale did nothing
It's hard to see where Fury, Klitschko, Haye, and Wilder are going to go when they face Joshua... Because AJ took a hard left hook in one fight doesn't mean there's a gaping hole there... Whyte didn't get another big left hook on him. Breazeale tried the hook... He tried the jab... He tried rights, uppercuts, looping shots... DB doesn't have an arsenal... I want to see what Parker throws... Is he going to even sign to fight Joshua????
