Seems BS when you consider theres been no positive test and the paper won't name a source ....so I will believe it when I see it !
Defamation lawsuit perhaps? Kind of like Hulk Hogans winnings could be on the cards here. I wonder if they even thought about that before making a big accusation..
The sample was taken September 2015 if this was a positive test surely we would of heard about it by now ?? Another thing How can they run this story without a source ? no wonder Fury wants to retire from this BS .
I don't think they would run this without a source.

Some interesting questions come to mind....
The events are not new, but somehow a journalist has found out, and broke the story. Strange timing - same weekend as Joshua's defence and two weeks before fury was meant to face wlad. Wonder who leaked the story ?
It's difficult to accept the damaged ankle excuse, in light of this development. The press usually contact the person being exposed and offer them a right of reply. I wonder if that happened earlier in the week ?
Feel sorry for fwank, he was staking so much on fury/wlad, and pushing hughie towards title contention. This development is a major blow to him and his channel. Loads of his shows fall through but clearly he pushed hard to get fury vs wlad on his channel and I bet he is gutted.
When the dust settles will there be legal recriminations ? A lot of investment has gone into fury vs wlad. Wonder if the people putting up the money were given disclosure of this alleged failed drugs test ?

Fwank made it clear BN were going to cover his progress towards title contention. Fwank wrote about it quite a bit and mentioned it in his interviews. He also got the wbo inter title for hughie's first fight in the new deal with the channel and said they are aiming for a world title fight next year, hence today's news being a substantial kick in the nuts for the channels plans.

It's worth remembering for now all we have is a sourceless claim from the Mirror, no official comments. It wouldn't be the first time an athlete has been caught on something, but it wouldn't be the first time a tabloid has misreported either.

Highly unlikely that they've plucked this one out of thin air. It would be good to know the origin of the source.

No but it could be from a bad source.

Have either Peter or Tyson, both prolific tweeters, posted up that there is no substance to the story?

There's a statement now.
Team Fury statement re: Sunday Mirror allegation
LONDON (26 JUNE) Team Fury/Hennessy Sports: We are baffled by today's story in the Sunday Mirror. Tyson Fury absolutely denies any allegation of doping. He looks forward to recovering from his injury and defending his titles against Wladimir Klitschko in October.
END

Peter tweeted a link to the statement that's just been posted on here, Tyson hasn't tweeted anything but isn't he on the piss in France anyway now?

So no denial of the existence of the test results.

What about this one eh, 'mind games' fans? Perhaps Fury rang the Mirror HIMSELF! Wladamir must be short circuiting: is the fight off?! What is happening?! Does not compute! Zzzzz pop fizz
Genius work from the Furious One!!! The fight is won before they even get in the bloody ring!

I dont know why it took so long after the 'supposed' positive...which was what, almost 18 months ago!
Very suspicious. Are dark things afoot?
This is a bollocks story.

The sample was taken in September 2015 if this was anywhere near a positive test he would have been banned by now, this is just a raised natural level and nowhere near the threshold of a positive test ,so this probably covers the Mirror getting sued .
I can't believe the mirror of all papers would risk running such a story with out a credible source for back up !
It's total bullshit and just another which hunt against Tyson Fury , no wonder the man wants to retire and leave this stupid game behind .

That's the thing though. Do we KNOW they don't? No we don't know. I definitely wouldn't risk my business unless it was a sure thing especially after the Hulk Hogan lawsuit. All the media learnt a lesson from that. I think they've got something here.

I hope he doesnt, though i understand his sentiments. Man just wants to fight and be himself.....and he is hounded by media and self righteous dickheads who have never been in a fight in their life. Fury is great for boxing and doesn't bend over for anyone. Best thing to happen to boxing for years. Wankers

Hughie Fury isnt anywhere near title contention.
Either AJ or Hearn last night said they fancied "one of the Furys" later this year, I know they indicated Hughie too as I raised my eyebrows. Cannot remember if it was IFL or Sky. Will go find it and post a link up

One thing I've noticed over the years, when tabloids do this sort of thing, is they sometimes hold back on a bit of killer info/evidence, keeping their powder dry, so to speak. If the initial story prompts a hasty denial, they have a second headline story to run, which gives legs to the story and destroys the denial. It's interesting to see the short sharp response from meaty mick, you would expect a bit more, such as a press conference being called.
One thing is now clearer to me, I posted months ago on Tyson being disinterested and dispondent, and wondered why the rematch was taking so long to materialise. Considering how quickly Eddie arranged Joshua's first defence the excuses of delays by mick seem hollow - it can't take that long, really, and funnily enough it ended up at an obvious choice venue. If all of this has been hanging over them through 2016 it puts tyson's behaviour into perspective. It's hard to commit to something when there is a chance of a scandal breaking and a possible ban from the sport, no wonder he has been talking about retiring and why he doesn't give a fxxk.

How can a heavyweight boxer “rely” on a nutritional supplement ffs? He’s allowed to eat as much of anything he wants. If you can’t meet your nutritional needs from food there’s something amiss.

Obviously it was nowhere near the threshold for a positive test or else in the last 12 months or more since the sample was taken he would of been banned .
Many athletes have higher than that natural levels ,its above the positive test threshold we should be talking about and not adding more bull shit to a non story .
The press are on a witch hunt , and have tried to discredit him from day one , their flinging any shit even bull shit to make it stick

Cigano, I accept that you're balls deep into the Team Fury ringpiece, but even you have to concede that UKAD's comment that they don't discuss these matters "until due legal process is completed" is indicative of this being more than a mere witch hunt by a gutter rag. I hope it comes to nothing as Fury is great value and a top fighter but you've got to be a cynic if you don't want to be let down.
