Behave yourself man. He is giving £100,000 to a guy he hardly knows.reggaereggae wrote:Nice one. But let's remember it's a tax break. Probably advised by accountant and agent.

You don't know otherwise, so wind your neck in.reggaereggae wrote:Intuitively, if anyone really reckons that David Haye (who I like and am a fan of) really gave £100,000 to nick Blackwell from his bank account; I would suggest they get their head examined.
Yeah, I've been a huge critic of Haye, and deservedly so, but this action is not deserving of opprobrium - it should be applauded.Stuarty30 wrote:Hayes done a nice thing here. Why do people feel the need to pick holes in what is a classy gesture? Haye gets a lot of stick on here for certain things and justifiably so but he's shown a touch of class here and should be commended.
You a cynic? I mean, I'm one of life's cynics, but you've got to draw the line somewhere.
Hard to believe I know.Stuarty30 wrote:You a cynic? To be fair, Eubank Jr hasn't got the kind of money Haye has. Also, Blackwell already got paid for fighting Eubank Jr, and Jr could have suffered the same fate during that fight.TopGun wrote:Good on him. Nice to see Eubank Jnr do the same?
Right, let me get this straight - we should 100% believe everything that anyone says, especially in the celeb or sports world, just because they said so?keithmoonhangover wrote:You don't know otherwise, so wind your neck in.reggaereggae wrote:Intuitively, if anyone really reckons that David Haye (who I like and am a fan of) really gave £100,000 to nick Blackwell from his bank account; I would suggest they get their head examined.
No, but the fact that Blackwell has received the money, makes everything else irrelevant. So long as Blackwell benefits, who gives a shite about the how? The fact is, Luke Blackwell's life is being positively influenced, however this is achieved.reggaereggae wrote:

Well we have to make sure he does number 1... and there are many so-called philanthropists who 'give' money away to charity, but effectively it comes off their tax bill, they are not giving their away, they are giving away money that would otherwise be paid to the treasury. They are in effect giving away money from the public purse. It doesn't really belong to them.jamesmcdonnell wrote:No, but the fact that Blackwell has received the money, makes everything else irrelevant. I'm not bothered who you think I am, at least I have some respect for such a good deed.reggaereggae wrote:PS sounds like keithmoonhnangover is actually Elliott Worsell????

It's not like you or I giving money to a charity box.
It's also fantastic PR and makes him seem like a great guy....
You posters surely can't be that naive?
He's done a really good thing and hopefully it will encourage the other big earners to do likewise. There is nothing naïve about celebrating a noble act, which is based on a fact. Your sinicism is based on your own imagination.reggaereggae wrote:You posters surely can't be that naive?

Blackwell seems pleased. That's all I really care about.
I agree, The main thing is Mr Blackwell gets a nice earner and put to good use could be a life changer. Fair play to Mr Hayejamesmcdonnell wrote:Yeah, I don't care what reasons Haye has for doing it, it's a good thing. Occasionally, just occasionally people deserve a bit of credit. I'm the last in the queue to be handing it out to Haye, but he deserves some respect here.
