Junior's a big man now and he should tell his dad to do one. Senior is turning into a real sad case who is seemingly prepared to see his son's career stagnate just so he can act like a big shot. How does a man with no business intelligence at all expect to be any use at negotiating contracts with professionals ffs ?

Junior needs to get himself hooked up with a trainer of his own choice and a manager who knows what he's doing and then I'm sure his career will flourish.

Eddie said his dad wanted to double Joshua tickets prices

I think this is greedy and unacceptable

Junior is an undercard fighter and I hope he gets beat in his next fight now

He will be back fighting in shopping centres soon

From Eddie Hearn....

“We were negotiating the Eubank fight for a long time, as you can imagine that was extremely difficult, we got close,” he told Boxing News.

“We set them [the Eubanks] a deadline and it wasn’t adhered to. They didn’t come back in time for the deadline. I phoned Kell later that night to talk about Vargas and I said ‘Do you want to fight Golovkin?’

“He asked if I was serious and I told him I hadn’t spoken to them [Golovkin’s team] about it but I know they’d love it, it’s a huge fight and he just said ‘yeah, I’ll fight Golovkin. 100 per cent.’

“So we moved probably within 24 hours. It happened over 36-48 hours, and I didn’t want to get involved in any of the speculation because I didn’t want to ruin the chance of Golovkin fighting in the UK.”

Eubank Jr has since taken to social media to refute the claims he stalled on signing a contract.

“They were close, we were always a little bit out with the money, trying to get a date. When the Eubank-Golovkin fight came about that was a big opportunity to bring Golovkin to the UK and I really wanted to do it, but it meant we’d have two pay-per-view dates and it’s very difficult setting the dates for those fights,” he continued.

“The dollar rate – and I know I get stick for mentioning it – it added 12 to 15 per cent onto the Vargas deal, it was a killer. But everything’s just slotted into place.

“It’s a standard pay-per-view deal, it’s the same deal Anthony Joshua’s on, the same deal Carl Froch was on. We give them ownership of the profit of the show and we take a percentage. It’s the most transparent deal out there.

“Yes, Chris Eubank Jr was offered the same deal that Kell Brook accepted, it’s the same deal Anthony Joshua’s on. We were ready to sign the fight for Eubank, but they made it so difficult.”

Eubank Snr allegedly caused most of the issues, demanding control of operational aspects on the night.

It will be a massive waste of talent but if team Eubank cement the reputation of being hard to deal with Jr's not going to get the opportunities his skills deserve.

I wonder why Hearn didn't just warn Eubank that if they didn't sign then the fight would be offered to Brook, I'm sure they would've signed then.

I found it disturbing when Eubank sr said that the first dollar that drops should go to the fighter not sky, who cares who gets the first dollar, if the fighter gets paid well ? Eubank jr is not all there in the head, I think Hearn just wanted to make a good PPV fight and make big money, his main man is Kel Brook, so this suits him more, I would assume. Eubank jr said he had not received a contract to sign, so either Eubank sr's demands were ridiculous or Hearn was playing poker and his real hand was Kel Brook.

Sr is going to wreck Jr's career if he carries on. Promoters will tire of his stupidity.

Agree. I used to really like the guy and he's one of the reasons I started boxing as a boy but he's becoming a tedious bore with his behaviour.

Problem with Sr, as has always been, is that he overestimates his own intelligence. He likes to think of himself as some sort of intellectual titan, but he isn't.

He wants control over every aspect of his sons career, which is pretty admiral to be honest, if not fool hardy.

Eubank sr is now blaming Golokin's promoter and Hearn, saying that he had not heard from Golokin's promoter and that they won't be working with Hearn again, that Eubank jr is a bigger name and better fighter then Kel Brook, I think Eubank sr is the main reason the fight did not happen, which promoter is he going to now ? Burned his bridges with Hennessey, Warren and now Hearn ? Eubank sr get's his son to mandatory for the world title, then goes back down to British, defends only once and then goes for Golokin' s world titles, now where does he go next, European title ? Eubank sr is loopy.

Yes, and he thinks, quite incorrectly, that using obscure words (often in the wrong context), makes you appear more intelligent.

Half the time you can't even work out what the hell he's trying to say, more often than not because he doesn't have anything of much import to say, or if he did, by the time he's gotten to the end of his sentence, he's forgotten what it is.

Sr will be loving this, just got huge worldwide press for his son by attaching him to GGG's brand, and Brook provides the perfect exit without them being called bottlers. Nice.

This is a bit out there, but maybe Eddie planned it this way. Gets massive press for Jr and sends massive shockwave through the sport by announcing Brook very GGG deal is done without ever having put his name in the mix. He's a promotional genius if he planned this.

Hearn has stated that Eubank sr wanted full control of the show and wanted to hike ticket prices, more then Joshua ticket prices, if that is the case, then no wonder it fell through.
