Yeah it's for the WBC international title.

Hearn tried to get it set up for the British title, but the board declined because they didn't think Allen had enough experience.

I have as much confidence in Allen as he or his trainer has in himself.

"I know I'm not the biggest, and I don't punch very hard but I'm really fit."

Sounds like Allen is going to do a running mans impression and try and take Whyte past 6-7 rounds hoping he'll gas out. Only way Allen wins this one is if he can scratch a points victory, but as far as I am concerned, Whyte at least catches him a few times before it gets that far which will result in slowing him down.

I think he's be unlikely to do as well as Chisora, he's quite a bit behind where Chisora was at the same age, and number of fights. By the time Chisora was 28 and 18 fights in he had won the British title against Williams, the Commonwealth against Sexton, should have won the EBU title against a pretty highly regarded prospect in Helenius, and became one of the few to take Vitali the distance, while putting up a surprisingly decent fight.

Whyte has beaten a couple cruiserweight journeymen.

very true, albeit I don't consider age such a barrier at HW, more the miles on the clock i.e amount of big shots they have taken as opposed to the speed of their career.

If Whyte wants to win a world title then he will need to vastly improve, he has limited skills IMO

That's true, but he took a crazy amount of damage in the Joshua fight, I'm not sure how that compares to the damage Chisora took fighting Fury, Helenius, and Vitali.

He just seems really untrained, both in his fitness, and skills. In fairness, against Joshua he did show some ability to land counters, but given his minimal defence, I don't think that's a viable strategy, and even with better training I doubt he'll ever have the energy to apply pressure over the coarse of a fight.

Despite my criticisms of him, I do still like the guy, so I hope I'm wrong.

People are exaggerating the gap between the two. Whyte isn't all that.

He was fighting for the first time after shoulder surgery, and was fighting a cruiserweight who just ran around the ring avoiding the fight. I'd cut him a little bit of slack. It's quite possible that Allen will do another runaway act, but might not have the movement of a cruiserweight, so expect Whyte to tag him easier.

Whyte has made a career on one amateur fight v joshua and one punch in the only round he won v joshua. Other than that he hasn't been spectacular.

I don't see him fighting any higher than European level and he will lose any shot he gets at a,world title.

He is slow, swings wildly and is easy to hit. A perfect combination in boxing to succeed

Let's hope Allen can be as elusive as his cornerman (Mr J Witter) :box:

I'm really looking forward to this fight.

I don't think their styles will gel and it will be a poor quality fight but it's still two lads you know with big fights ahead for the winner

If Allen wins he wants price bad and if whyte wins being on del boy

Both fighters looked uninspired in their last outings, but if they both come in good shape and both go for it this could be a decent scrap.

Shame they couldn't get the British title on the line for this as i'm sure that would have helped get the best out of both men.

Whyte to win by stoppage mid-late rounds.

Who know how good Allen could be. One Gavern fight is not enough to form a solid opinion. But oh boy he looked shoddy in that. VERY slow and easy to hit. He'll need to do lot more to last a round against Whyte. Lets see what he is made of.

Come on Whyte is hardly Ali. I mostly Favour Whyte because he's bigger and shown himself to be pretty tough. The fight is going to be a slopfest.

Some great videos there.

I think Dillian Whyte is becoming quite likeable, bit of a character. He's also turning into someone that can sell a fight really really well. Looking forward to this on Saturday now!

Don't rate whyte at all after that lasts fight but Allen is not great at all, this fight would have been competitive if they had given Allen a full camp.

Dave Allen was bang on saying he would be Dillians best win.

I like both lads, Allen will be moving on win or lose but Whyte is risking a lot.

I dont think you have to be Ali to thrush the version of Allen that turned up at Gavern fight. That was a journeyman level performance. I am hoping he is better then that. As for size I think they are similar, same height, same weight.

Whyte is an inch taller, and was 250Ibs in his last fight, only up to a couple light in the 3 before that, David Allen was 236Ib in his last fight. And atleast Gavern has beaten Heavyweights with winning records, unlike Whyte's last opponent.

Having just watched the full fight, I'm not convinced he's sloppier than Whyte.

That inch is his cone shaped hairstyle. And 10 pound out of that 250 is his tits. :D

True I probably shouldn't trust listed heights, hard to say from that face to face since it's at an angle, but it doesn't look massive. I'm starting to think Allen has a shot.
