Somewhere in the region of $1-1.5m, nowhere near the numbers being thrown around in the press, no doubt put there by Golovkin's team, think that was the all in figure too before everyone, Warren included, took their cut. Considering that Saunders would have to travel, could make that and more in an easier fight against Eubank and has the WBO belt that Golovkin's after to complete the set, it wasn't a particularly good offer but some people are so far up Golovkin's arse that they consider it outrageous that Saunders didn't bow down and do as they wanted him to.

They put Kelly on there because he was ranked and they wanted an easy opponent for Smith's first defence, of all the options he was the best one because he could pay for his own purse as he was a local lad.

It's just bullshit about him being ducked? Tell me again what Canelo did with his belt when GGG was lined up as his mandatory? What about Danny Jacobs saying he needed another 1.5 years before facing GGG and never trying to force his shot as the 'regular' WBA champ? Lou Dibella openly admitting when his fighter Martinez was champ that they wanted nothing to do with GGG? Cotto threatning to drop his WBC title if he were forced to face GGG? N'dam dropping his mandatory status to GGG's title so he could fight a soft opponent? Quillin saying he wanted $5-10m to fight GGG (you admitted on another thread that he ducked GGG). A fight at 168 was also being lined up with Chavez, someone who steamrolled the guy BJS won his title from, but Chavez acknowledged turning down a big money offer for that.

And of course BJS, who openly admitted that GGG would beat him, was offered a career best purse, but somehow you've put his value so high that he shouldn't even deign to consider such an offer.

After starting his career with a bang Murata has looked pretty lackluster to me, in the vein of his former amateur rival Khytrov. In both cases it looks to me like each fighter is capable of performing better than they do, but that extra something which could take them to the next level just seems to be missing at this point.

Murata is a strong stalker and I imagine that he could have his moments, particularly late if BJS fades again, but I think the latter would have a sufficient combination of skill and toughness to get through rough patches and win clearly on points.

It'd be easier to forgive BJS for not taking the GGG fight if he went out and had a fight with a top 10 MW like Jacobs or Lemieux, but when he turns down the #1 in his division and organises a fight with Max Bursak instead it's frustrating to say the least.

In the interview with Kugan he said the next opponent is someone everyone has heard of, someone like Curtis Stevens would be good.
