It doesn't look good for Brook. But I do think he's one of our most talented ever boxers.

Who knows, maybe GOlovkin's prime has passed, waiting for the big names that never came. Maybe Triple G will come over with a cold, or suffer dehydration from making the weight for too long.

Maybe when someone puts on some quality boxing, Gennady will be a different fighter.

Upsets do happen, and maybe we all missed something. Or may be the homeboy just got greedy and will suffer for it come fight night.

You don't usually see Brook looking small, next to his opponent ? Looks a bit intimidated.

Bang on. Kell looks further out of shape that GGG. He looks chubby while GGG looks close to his fight shape and Brook is still smaller. When your untrained size is already smaller than the other guys trained weight, your pretty well fukked

On what grounds???

Brook is already 30 years old and his resume is still pretty sparse for you to be making that claim. You can't possibly say he's one of our most talented ever off the back of his ring accomplishments and performances, so unless you've seen him regularly beat up world class guys in sparring then i don't know how you're making that leap?

And where's the notion that Brook is incredibly slick suddenly come from?
He's a sharp and precise puncher for sure, but his defence is far from water tight - back in straight lines, not much head movement, stands fairly upright pulling away from shots, not particularly difficult to hit, especially with the right hand which he's shipped plenty of in his career.

I'll say it again, imo, Brook has so much success from being the physically bigger and more athletic man than his opponents, no doubt he's skilled as well, but the idea getting bandied about that he's some super slick master boxer the like of which Golovkin has never seen the before in his amateur or pro career, is f*cking ludicrous

Its a last fight retirement fund top up for Kell. That said I wish him well and hope he can pull off a miracle, which is what it will be if he wins

Golokin is not regarded as a big Middleweight and Brook is regarded as a big welter, which would make them both Light Middle's, right ? Not judging by this picture, Golokin looks huge compared to Brook and Brook can see it too, he looks a bit intimidated.

I hope he's getting paid..

I think Kell is the best WW in the world - right now I'd (slightly) favour him over any of Garcia, Khan, Bradley, Spence and Thurman. It's not ridiculous that he could beat all of them.
But Golovkin ?!
@ middle ?!?
:shame:

Brook's best assets @ WW - size, power, accuracy - will suddenly be gone. While his weaknesses - slow feet and low tempo - will be magnified by GGG's style. AND THEN there's the size difference.

At least with Khan vs Canelo you could see a (very unlikely) way for Khan to win, IF he boxed the perfect, speedy, back-foot fight for 12 rounds w/o getting hit. You could have sensibly had a few quid on Khan pts @ 20/1.

Serious question - can anyone explain a scenario whereby Brook could pull off a 20/1 upset ?
HOW is Brook is gonna win this ?

He'd just realised that dressing like a Black Muslim for a photo shoot in America is NOT the best idea.

Can't see anyway Brook wins ,, the more you look at this fight the more it screams MISMATCH .. ... i DO HOPE THAT Brook watched the Hearn interview and sumiseed what i did, that Eddie wants this fight more for his OWN legacy, than for Brook to earn a big quid.

Eddie is desperate to go down has Britains best ever promoter,, bringing the biggest domestic to Wembley , and now the best current in form p4p , and outshine his Dad and Franky ,,, And to do it he's willing to throw Brook to the wolves .

Ok fair enough he's a promoter and thats what they do , but if Brooks puts up a good performance , his stock will go high Canelo could be next and then Amir would'nt be able to say fight a name first ,,, And Brooks should remeber when negotiating , Hearn is'nt his mate , he threw him too the wolves

Another stupid fight to take. Much like khans fight v canrlo and quite a few others being made atm. Brook should and could have had a great career after porter. But its turning into disaster territory.

I dont rate golvokin as highly as some. A lot of people starting to get carried away with him. Think if brook fought at the same weight i d give him a good chance to actually win the fight. But not two weight classes above.

Although brook will make it a fight even conceding the weight. People getting silly with golvokin saying he ll win in two rounds etc. Murray was able to take him into about the tenth snd murray isnt great himself. I think brook will cause him problems although two weight classes above igd looking like a fight he cant win. Shame they ve went down this route. Could still have resurrected kells career even at this point after some horriblr mis management

he has speed, athleticism, coordination. He seldom misses a shot and is beautifully accurate and composed. Recently his combinations have been really impressive. None of that Amir Khan style huffing, puffing then hyperventilating.

Straight lines? Brook uses some very nice pivots prior to throwing that surprise, very short left hook.

Brook is looking at one nasty beating in this fight. GGG is an animal who`ll not stop til he has finished. I can see a body shot being the finisher, Brook is open to the ribs as he backs off after throwing.

Question for me is what this does to Brook`s career. Losing your unbeaten record is one thing, but taking a proper hammering in a PPV fight is gonna hurt.

he might not to be the same fighter again after this. I think brook genuinely believes he is elite level and this might shake his confidence to the extent that it hurts his career. He`ll have to show some real mental strength to get back on track after a fight like this.

He will be getting very well paid though, so maybe retiring might even be an option he considers.

I doubt Brook has ever felt power like Golovkins, save for maybe a couple of sparring sessions. It`s gonna shock him from the first time it lands. I wish him well, but this is not just a fight where it does`t matter if he loses as he can go to 154 and fight Canelo. It could damage his career very badly.

I don`t see anything over than a very one sided beatdown that finish early to mid rounds.

If Brook takes his right hand ,, makes a fist , throws it hard , lands it on GGG's chin ,, he might win ,,, Then again if i put 100 grand on this happenning i could win big ,, But can't see it really , and i've not got 100 grand to waste either

I'm looking forward to the occasion. I reserve my right to change my mind, but my current analysis is as follows:

1. Let's treat it as a mini Hagler - Hearns. To be fair, it's pretty easy to compare GGG to Marvelous. High hand position, stalker who dips his shoulders a lot, throws offensive punches from an open stance, as both hands are effective. A fight between the two of them, might be the best middleweight fight of all time (and before the historians wade in, I treat SRR as a welter. The best of all time, but a welter).

2. Brook as Hearns. A little more difficult, but I will make a tenuous argument. Struggles with the weight, undefeated, has a nice jab, believed in himself. Trouble is, every decent jab he throws, he tends to admire before the rest of the combo.

I'm looking forward to it. I think Kell will get hammered -stopped between 5 and 7, but his worst case scenario is to get hammered and then go back down to welter or LW (or retire; see below). His best case is to be in the upper echelons of the sport; both in prestige and earnings.

I strongly suspect, that his leg post stabbing affects his power shots and I've been told that's been mooted amongst his team for a while.

In any event, I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. The first time I earned any money, I spent it on going to see ODLH v Mosely I. Seeing that hand speed ringside, remains humbling (without wishing to sound like AJ!).
