In recent years this idiot is the biggest waste of talent in the sport.

The Maidana loss was an opportunity to get his act together get rid of all the hangers on and get back to work but he has become even more stupid.

Maybe once he's broke he'll get his shit together.

don't agree with that. i don't think the guy would have anymore success against maidana and porter had he been a boy scout. he's achieved about everything his talent would allow. moving above light welter may well have contributed to his downfall also

Yeah, he's nowhere near as good as he thought he was, and lacked the discipline to stay in a weight class where he could have prospered.

Lacks the mindset of a real champion, wants everything the easy way, and prefers the bragging to the doing.

1. It's monumentally stupid to turn up to a court hearing that late, and either being pissed or smelling of booze.

2. That said, a 30 day stretch in the slammer for that is not proportionate. To use that logic, the minor courts of Southside LA , the Bronx, Detroit etc would be incarcerating on sight most of the folks that appear.

3. Think we can assume the judge was giving him a kick up the arse, and a decent appellate attorney will have him out within a week.
