Who woulda thought there was so much money in this long standing rivalry?

Maybe Lester and Barry could ignite the old flames and get abord this gravy train. Ellis could go to Mick Gatto for financial backing and Barry could start baiting Lester saying he's started banging his mum again.

It'd be on for all money.

At least Barry wouldn't have to worry about Gangitano if they did.

Danny Green said today he hopes his rematch with Anthony Mundine will take place before the end of this year.

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport ... ear/#page1

Green and Mundine have agreed terms but are yet to set a date and venue.

Green said today he would love to fight Mundine in Melbourne, with Perth and Sydney also options.

Green, 43, will have to lose about 7kg to meet the expected catch weight of 83kg, while 41-year-old Mundine will try to add up to 10kg.

“We haven’t got a contract and we haven’t got a specific date or a specific city lined up as of yet, but we’ve agreed to terms,” Green said at a press conference Melbourne today.

“I needed to hear that from Mundine.

“Khoder said, ‘I’m not going to tell you any more, mate, you need to hear it from Mundine personally’.

“I needed to hear it come out of his mouth because, as we all know, he does speak a lot of bullshit.”

Green said he had overcome a nagging back complaint and was feeling fit ahead of the Watts fight.

Seeing as there seems to be an obsession by some fans to watch two middle aged well past their prime wannabees
go around again why not make it a card for senior citizens.
A rematch between Philip Holiday and Jeff Fenech is long overdue.
Surely they could fit Bob Mirovic in there somewhere.
Maybe Tony could open proceedings by fighting a 4 round exhibition.

Could very well be the future of OZ boxing. :OhYes:

I think we all knew there would be a shite load of money involved. That's why it was always likely to happen, regardless of the sticking points that might arisen along the way.

Mundine needs bit more breathing space. Here are a few examples he needs to confirm.
1. Whether hot air balloon can lift erected ring on top of Ayers Rock?.....being his desired location for such important & special event.
2. Whether Main Event's production crew work on Public Holiday i.e. Australia Day and will it cover it, given it falls on Thursday in 2017
3. Whether Bruce McTavish is available to referee the fight
4. Feel free to add
5.
6.

Yep they are both past their prime, have done some great things for Aussie boxing and also an average thing here or there but I will be watching. Hopefully they stack the undercard. Im sure the majority of those people bagging this fight will tune in one way or the other.

Previous experience would suggest another dud card.
These two shonks have never liked being upstaged on their own shows.

That article is 6 years old

There are an endless supply of articles on-line where Mundine has talked bullshit too.

I'm sure we could all go and drag out 6, 8, 10 and 12 year old articles and fill the place with them. But what would be the point?

They both talk a lot of bullshit LAB it's just funny how protective you all are when Danny does it. The Tarver excuse was the funniest ''The financial pressure brings about stress''

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PPle7PS8VY

Danny Green is the last person to be able to accuse someone else of talking a lot of bullshit.

I simply posted an article dated July 26th 2016. A recent article which qualifies it as NEWS.

A Green quote in that article has upset you so much you have responded by dredged up an article dated 2010

See again also my comment above that reads:

"There are an endless supply of articles on-line where Mundine has talked bullshit too".

(note the last word there is too - meaning both have)

What if just days before the scheduled bout Lester Ellis is kidnapped and held at ransom by Colombians. Then in order to save his investment and possibly the life of his new found friend, Mick Gatto bravely steps in to take on Barry himself :o

Might pay to send that story-line in to Channel 9 mate. Could be another Underbelly series in it.
