"I wanted to come back to Launceston for a long time and fight here," Geale said.
"I love fighting in front of a home crowd and having that support.
"It has been a pretty tough 12 months but I'm ready — I've still got that burning desire deep down and I want more now, I want to win more titles."
"He's an explosive-type fighter," Geale said.
"He's been at super middleweight for a long time, he's a big, strong guy and I'm stepping up so I've got a little bit to prove there.
"I'm not going to be taking him easy at all, he can take a good shot and he lands a good shot too, so I need to be on my game."
'Moving up in weight bringing out my best.'
"Now having that comfort in not having to kill myself to make weight I'm enjoying what I do, and when I enjoy what I do, hopefully, that's what's going to bring the best out of me.'
"I love the sport of boxing, I still believe I've got something left to offer as well."
"When that desire stops I'll obviously step away."

Daniel Geale vows to fight for his mum Michelle
http://www.themercury.com.au/sport/dani ... 72428c459e
Daniel Geale will dedicate his upcoming bout in his home town to his mother, Michelle, who died earlier this year.
Geale will fight Renold Quinlan, 27, at the Silverdome in Launceston on Friday, October 14.
He said his mother would be in his thoughts when he went into the ring.
“She’s a big motivation for me, especially watching what she went through – she did it tough for a long time and I just carry her in my thoughts,” he said.
“She supported me the whole way,’’ he said. “The way she brought us up she always tried so hard and she worked hard, everything she done she worked extremely hard in and I guess that rubbed off on me.
“I enjoy training and pushing my body and I think that’s from her.”
“I love the sport of boxing and even after the loss I still believe I had something left to offer, it wasn’t time for me yet,” he said.
“When that desire stops obviously I will step away.’
“I have a dietitian that I work with and I try to maintain not too high a weight which means I do not have to dehydrate myself as much to get down to the weight. In the past, especially my last fight, I had to dehydrate myself pretty severely to make the weight.
“Now I don’t have to do that I can make the weight feeling stronger and that means I am going to recover better.
“There have been times in the past where I have weighed in at 72.5kg and stepped into the ring at 82.5kg.”

Good luck to Daniel. I think he still has much to offer the sport.

As many had suspected, Geale vs Quinlan is for the IBO belt Zac Dunn vacated.

Great win for Reynold Quinlan. Time for Daniel Geale to make a good decision and sit back and enjoy the spoils of what he has earned and achieved.

Agreed. Geale can certainly hold his head high, a career almost anyone would be proud of.

G'day D. Mate i just posted on another topic regarding Gealey. A few more like him - prepared to travel, fight the best etc - and this sport would be so much better. I hope he reads what people are writing about him because it can only be positive.

Haha, I've just quoted your post there as you were quoting mine, I hope you're well mate, I couldn't have put it (your other post) any better.

Reynold Quinlan post fight :
“This was a very good night for me."
“The fight went exactly to plan, but this is just the beginning. “Now that I have a version of the world title, I’m ready to take on anyone at super middleweight.”
“I’ll even fight the big names at middleweight, Let boxers like Felix Sturm and Badou Jack know that I’m ready or I’ll happily take on GGG. I’m putting the world on notice. I’m ready to be Australia’s next boxing star.”
“I’m in a place where no man will get in my way.”

Perhaps the last glimpse we will get of Daniel Geale competing in the ring and not a happy sight :
