There were actually five pros in the Olympics. At the last Qualifier in Venezuela there were 23 pros who tried but only three qualified; Ruenroeng, Tommasone and Njikam. Also, Mathieu Bauderlique and David Graf who had joined the APB were already qualified. Khedafi Djelkhir, France (16-0, 12 KO´s) had also qualified via APB but he desisted from participating due to poor support from the french federation.
Pros at the Olympics:
60 kg Amnat Ruenroeng, Thailand 17-1 (5 KO´s) former IBF Flyweight champ
Defeated Ignacio Perrin, Argentina 3-0
Lost to Sofiane Oumiha, France TKO by 3
60 kg Carmine Tommasone, Italy 15-0 (4 KO´s)
Defeated Lindolfo Delgado, Mexico 3-0
Lost to Lazaro Alvarez, Cuba 0-3
81 kg Hassan Ndam Njikam, Cameroon 34-2 (20 KO´s) former WBO Middleweight champ and WBA Interim Middleweight champ
Lost to Michel Borges, Brazil 0-3
81 kg Mathieu Bauderlique, France 10-0, 5 KO´s
Bronze medalist
Defeated Juan Carlos Carrillo, Colombia 3-0
Defeated Carlos Mina, Ecuador TKO 3
Lost to Julio Cesar La Cruz, Cuba 0-3
91 kg David Graf, Germany 10-1, 7 KO´s
Lost to Yamil Peralta, Argentina 1-2
So much for the poor young kids who would get slaughtered by savage professionals...
