Very useful information to base a predicition on..., if they fought the exact competition, at the exact stages their careers, and their opponents were in their exact stages of their careers. Maybe someone should look that up to see if that is the case.
That was me being waggish, but you didn't get it... I was facetiously remarking on the massive number of times both were beaten more than who would win... I actually think London would have a better chance to win because Cockell was knocked out by Middleweight Randy Turpin and was more pudgy and inept than even London. But it's a pick 'em fight. Who's going to be worse on the night.
I believe he suffered from some kind of glandular problem which caused him to be very out of shape. BAlthough Ive only seen Cockle on film I never rated him as a boxer. London was tough and in some fights seemed to have at least an idea how to box. He fought far superior guys than did Cockell. A common opponent was Nino Valdes, who flattened Cockle early as opposed to London who was battling on even terms before a cuts stoppage.

Interesting about London is that despite being knocked out by both Floyd and Ali,and probably taking more punishment than either,I believe he is still going strong. Up to a few years ago he used to run round Stanley Park in Blackpool. Last I heard/read he had gone back to live in his native North East. Is he still up there I wonder? Remarkable fella.

Billy Walker was so bad he couldn't even beat Karl Mildenberger on his home turf... Mildenberger touched him continuously until they stopped it.

Mildenberger wasn't a bad fighter. He was a bit bigger than Walker. Neither would be much more than cruiser. If they could have fought at that weight they would have been competitive with the cruisers of today. For example,I think Mildenberger would have beaten Marco Huick, and Walker would have given him at least a fight. Same with Brian London.
Dunno whether yore from the US but you seem to like Amos Johnson. Good fighter, but he was losing, and wouldn't have beat London in that one. First time Ive seen that, thanks to whoever posted it. Just because he beat Ali as amateur doesn't make him a world beater. Many examples like that. I suspect age and possibly experience could have been a factor.

Milderberger and Walker would have been murdered by Huck or any top cruiserweight today... Mildenberger was a joke who Dick Richardson flattened with one shot for the count of 1000...in the 1st round... Johnson beat Mildenberger in Germany but was given a draw... Cooper beat London 3 times -- but Johnson beat Cooper easily in England.. HIs win over Cooper was supposed to get him a shot at Ali... But Ali wanted to fight Cooper and reneged to the deal... English promoters then told Johnson, "You beat London and you get the shot at Ali" ... Johnson didn't believe them for a second, but he hoped it was true.. Johnson knew something was wrong... He argued with his corner before and during the London fight because he felt weak and groggy... Johnson was stumbling all over the ring and said he had no balance and could barely keep his feet... London fought Ali next.

The DQ was BS... Johnson was starting to come on in the round in the round and the referee DQ'd him for nothing after harassing him all night... That was his only DQ... Johnson was basically done after that fight... His dream was to fight Ali and those dreams were crushed with the DQ.

what I remember the mostly from this fight over the years was that they interview Mrs.Brian London afterwards and she had said

"Do you mean that he will still get paid for this ?"

(or words to that effect)

That reminds me of what Brian London's manager once said

"He may be a bum,but he's a good bum."
