That’s a good video.

There’s another video on YouTube with Kathy Duva saying that Andre Ward was invited to the press conference weeks ago and she was told by Roc Nation the week before that he wasn’t willing to attend as it’s too close to his fight to travel.

So my question is this, if the contract wasn’t signed, then why did Main Events try to sell the tickets? Why did they hold a press conference? Why didn’t Kathy or Kovalev clearly explain that they knew well in advance that Ward was unable to attend the press conference?

Kathy also uses very vague non-committal language when she is asked about the venue saying that "we had an agreement"... “as far as I was concerned”. If the venue was agreed in writing, then she can clearly answer the question by quoting the signed terms of the contract. Instead, she answered the question as though the facts were open to interpretation, which they shouldn't be if the contracts were indeed signed.

It seems that Main Events are creating an atmosphere of uncertainty when there should be none, if they answered the damn questions honestly and in true context.

Duva has a bad habit of trying to negotiate fights using the court of public opinion. Most other promoters that have to work with her find her extremely difficult to work with.

The last time she was forced to work with a promoter on a major show she was busy trying to strip Tyson Fury of his IBF title and justify it thru the media.

That was in a three year stretch of his career, since then he's done very little, except beat a weight drained Dawson.

I'm tiring of Ward, if his fight with Kovalev doesn't happen, I'll blame him, as he seems to be the one trying to dictate terms, despite the fact Kovalev is the man.

Ward couldn't draw flies to shit, so why he thinks he can dictate terms is beyond me; if it wasn't for the super six, he'd be unknown outside of Oakland, and the way he's going, he's heading back to obscurity in the near future.

Just fight in Vegas and shut the F+++ up Andre, everyone's bored of talk, they want to see a fight. It makes no financial sense to hold it in Oakland.

A fight in Vegas will be sponsored by the Casino, who will add a large amount to the purses for both fighters, what will Oakland arena contribute?

Ward is starting to really piss me off, he's acting like a massive star, when he isn't one.

So, in effect, the agreement amounts to no more than the fact that HBO have allocated a date in their calendar (it is HBO isn't it) - and in fact either nothing has been signed, or a contract has been signed with no venue agreed, which would be odd, but wouldn't be the first time a contract was signed on that basis.

Apparently the fight has now been pulled from the T-Mobile Arena website calendar where it had previously occupied a space. I wonder if Brave Warrior Andre Ward and his team have anything to do with that? :stop:

Exactly, I'm not knocking his past achievements, last few years have been a waste though.

Oh dear.

Sounds like it's basically "Oakland or no fight."

If I were Kovalev, I'd tell him to go shove it. Why should Ward dictate anything, he needs the fight more than Kovalev.

Is your caps lock key broken? Honestly, bloody annoying.

I thought Ward had some sense, clearly he doesn't. This fight belongs in Vegas, plain and simple. Ward is a fool to nix this fight.

I am surprised to note though that it holds 20,000 people in the Oracle Arena.

However, they won't be able to charge the earth for tickets or get the high rollers in like in Vegas.

Look, his resume was based off of a tournament he signed up for in advance. That doesn't diminish the accomplishment, but the fact that he has done nothing since except talk is on him. He's clearly impossible to deal with.

Even then he was the only person who had home advantage in every single fight, he's clearly a huge prim donna.

"Kathy Duva resolves issues with Roc, confident Ward-Kovalev at T-Mobile":
http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/4324 ... t-t-mobile

“It will be at T-Mobile,” Duva told RingTV.com on Thursday. “We’re going to have the contracts (signed) soon. We’ve gotten past the impasse in the last few days... it won’t be long. It’s resolved. I don’t think there are any big, outstanding issues.”

Wait a minute, did you just realize that Ward fought this weekend? Didn't occur to you when you made this thread?

What's your function here anyway? Just trolling? Cause as a poster you're laughably bad.

Always found it strange how a then little known prospect like Ward who never held a title was able to hold all the aces in the Super 6 while established fighters like Froch,Kessler and even Taylor all had to fight abroad
