When you watch Price interviews from last year, hes always calling out Joshua. I think Boxrec Forum has only caught onto this now but Price has been trying to make this fight for a long time now but Hearn or Joshua hasnt even said Prices name.
Why would they, he's basically a shot fighter.
According to what Ive heard, its a straight out ducking of Price. Apparently Prices style troubles Joshua. Before Joshua was knocked out he was wobbled on a few occasions.
Heard from who precisely? Price's nan?

Lol its old news. I was reading it earlier this year. Try other boxing forums, you'll come across it. Eastside Boxing Forum is quite good as theres plenty of sources there close to the camps. You often hear news there before it comes out!

I think theres a Joshua camp member on there or sparring partner or something who adds to it or something, cant remember, like I said, old news.

Price has fallen short at Euro level, badly. He's not remotely world class and as such doesn't deserve a world title shot. Even if he had knocked Joshua out ten times, he hasn't done anything as a professional to justify a title shot.

price probably isn't worth the risk , because of his bad rep of being Chinny and mentally vulnerable he wouldn't get any credit for beating him but they will be more than aware of prices power
Who has Price neat to suggest he would be Joshua's best opponenet to date by a big margin? Proce has never beat a fighter ranked higher than 4th/5th in Britain. What's his best win? Sexton? McDermott? Dallas?

I'd fancy Breazale to beat Price. He's shown he can take big shots and still come back throwing. That's virtually enough to beat Price.
Joshua would smash Price to pieces. It would be a massacre.

But who has Price beat to suggest he's easily the best Joshua would have faced? Teper smashed Price to bits. Teper. Thats not even including a 500 yr old Tony Thompson beating him up.
I like Price, he's a top fella but sparring stories and apparently having huge power doesn't mean he shouod be fighting for a world title, no matter how plastic it might be. He actually needs to prove he can beat someone ranked in the worlds top 50 first ( then someone in the top 15 ) before chatting about world title shots.

If this was for the British then fine, but Joshua can't keep fighting sub par opposition. Martin, Breazale and Price would be a pretty awful trio of opponents for "world title" fights! At least Breazale was unbeaten and Martin was actually the champion.

Embarrassing desperation. Price has done even less to earn a shot than Hughie Fury.

Enough playing around Hearn, make the Pulev fight.

It's a pretty sad and desperate state of affairs that Price is pulling up sparring stories to try and goad Joshua into a fight.

This fight should most certainly not be happening any time soon. Price should concentrate getting back on the horse (as opposed to tiddling along on Blackpool donkey's), then once he is at least fighting at European level should he consider fighting Joshua. He should have Whyte or Chisora on his radar at absolute max currently. If he made short work of either of these, then I'd be happy to discuss the topic.

Joshua on the other hand should be concentrating on names ahead of him as opposed to those behind. Pulev, Parker and Stiverne were on his radar, he should 100% fight one of them. I know there's talk of Hughie Fury, but I'd stay clear until his hearing is concluded - don't want to risk a retrospective cancellation.

I suspect that Price is trying to generate that one last payday, but to Joshua it is a nothing fight - I don't even consider him risky. Even if Price packs a punch, he's still got to land it, and Joshua moves much better than Price. Everyone who's anyone in the division will identify Joshua as a payday, so it's inevitable that they will do what they can to make it happen. Price needs to earn his payday, and digging up sparring stories is bottom line desperate.

Price is still getting a bit too much credit from some people based on his power. It's all well and good recognizing that someone has elite power, and that he could hurt anyone he lands on, but if that fighter rarely punches because he's terrified of being hit, has a glass chin that enables others to take him out first, and shoots his wad early even when he does hurt an opponent, then his power is quite the limited tool.

I remember the consensus against Teper was that Price should handily win, but even against a guy like that (well below AJ in my opinion) I don't really see what there was to support those opinions. Price can obviously punch, but he's a very flawed fighter who has been in calamity each time he's someone beyond domestic level. As limited as someone like Breazeale is, I think there's a sizeable chance that he'd grit down, march ahead, and hand Pricey yet another stoppage loss.

We've already seen that AJ can beat people who dropped him in his amateur days; at this point he's way ahead of Price and should be looking to bigger things.

There was an article on Price in Boxng News fairly recently, he talked about the Teper fight and how he has only lost to drug cheats.

The one quote that really stuck was something like "Teper was like a wild bull, he was on drugs and just went straight for me, there was nothing I could do to keep him off me". That's not exact but it's close. I just felt reading that, he was mentally out of action. Never going beyond domestic as a pro. He seems a nice guy I just don't think he has that edge to see him through a tough battle.

You think I would. He doesn't interest me. When I was listening about this Price knocking out Joshua on Youtube, there was one of Prices fights on the side.

The other forums posters said Price is crap as well so thats mainly why.

Last time I checked, men on PED's can still be knocked out, Price has now convinced himself his problems are just down to the fact his opponents were on PEDS. I'm sure he's knocked guys out on PED's before. The idea that he was helpless is a useful fiction for Pricey, when in fact even someone who's on the gear can be sparked out with a big punch.

He has been British and Commonwealth champion Olympic medallist

I don't believe anyone that AJ has beat has genuinely had an attribute that worried them much, Price's power would definitely be the biggest danger AJ has came across

I'm not saying he deserves a World Title fight here, Just that he would be AJ's biggest test to date.

I don't think he has convinced himself that his problems are down to his opponents being on PED's hence the change to Coldwell for training, - However it must be frustrating to have a reputation for being shite when the guys who have beat him have failed drug tests

Price needs to be careful that he doesn't get what he asks for.

If he does I predict a Haye/Audley scenario - Price will look like a rabbit in the headlights for a round or two, not throw a single shot with any commitment before being bludgeoned into submission.

I concur, he'd be well aware of the threat that AJ posed with his own offence, and would go back into a shell, pawing with the jab and inviting a beating.

I just don't see how it's going to change for Price now, he's gun shy, and will remain gun shy against fighters with power and/or aggression. The two fights with Thompson ruined him mentally.

As I recall, there were a bunch of supposedly knowledgeable fans who thought Audley was going to win that.

If only he fought as well as he talked, he'd have them KO'd before they'd finished touching gloves.
