Thing is, Corey knew he had nothing and needed to take the fight with the terms favouring the champ.

According to Fast Frankie, Harris was getting the biggest payday of his career. But that was before the Showtime fukc up over the date, so maybe he's now getting the smallest payday of his career.

Manny Steward wants the fight in Detroit?! That has to be a non starter. I'd guess hardly anyone in Detroit know who Vivian Harris is.
Must be a negotiating ploy I guess.

Excuse my ignorance, but is anyone else surprised that Manny is MANAGING Harris? I cannot remember the last fighter than Manny managed.

Detroit, no way in god's earth is that going to happen. Harris has only had his purse cut by 25% from what I read, so I fail to see how it could be the smallest of his career.

I hope that this is all just jockeying for position.

Yes it's unusual to see Steward managing these days, though I think he manages that young talent he's trained since he was 6 or something.
The boxer he says is going to be the next Big Thing. Latin I think, and had his pro debut last year.

Its a strange chain of events Steward joining the party, and his comments highlighted the fact he clearly isn't up to speed. Hatton v Harris in DETROIT? Why? So Steward doesn't have to stay in a hotel?

I believe Harris got $225,000 for Urkal and was offered $300,000 to return.

It's funny isn't it....you would assume that simple things like agreeing dates with sky would happen before doing a deal with main events and making a financial offer....but not in the crazy business world that is SN.

you only have to hope that SN are like an upside down swan...under the water all serene but on the surface a whirl of frantic mad confused activity. I cant think of a high profile business in the Uk that so much brings to mind amateur hour.

btw I think the issue for Hatton is not so much how much he is paid in relation to Harris but how much of a pay cut he is taking relative to the profits warren expects to make. i.e. is hatton taking a hit while frank keeps his profit margin up?

Ricky should realise that if you make yourself a cash cow you end up getting milked and just get on with winning a goddam belt.

45,000 is a lot of bums on seats, and I cannot think of a fight which has had attendance like that since Leonard v Duran in Montreal.

i think 45000 attended Eubank V Benn 2 (in Manchester), that was huge.... 15million watched on tv too
