"Robberies"in Rio? Remember London?!?
Re: "Robberies"in Rio? Remember London?!?
All this "robbery" talk is utter nonsense. Read up on confirmation bias because that's what happened here. Folk have a view that boxing is corrupt, they see what they think is evidence of it in the tischenko fight and then are actively seeking other examples thereafter to confirm their beliefs.
Just the same was racial attacks supposedly went up after the brexit vote...

I've not seen it. I've seen conlan's and Joyce's though. I thought conlan won but I can see why the judges thought he never. I thought Joyce got beat.

So how do you know that 'utter nonsense' applies to the popular view that Levit was robbed against Tischenko? Robberies can happen, can't they?Supremo wrote:I've not seen it. Folk have a view boxing is corrupt because it's been proven to be corrupt time and time again! Look at the people involved in the sport at the top level. Guys like Don King. More (supposedly) "developed" sports like Football and Athletics have been proven to be corrupt recently but "folk" just "have a view" that boxing is?Supremo wrote:All this "robbery" talk is utter nonsense. .
Book called Boxing Confidential details widespread corruption over the years....
Boxing Confidential is the hardest-hitting expose of boxing ever written, campaigning journalist Jim Brady lays bare the corrupt history of the 'Noble Art'. From its murky beginnings to the multi-billions business of today. Delving into extensive FBI files and police documents, he reveals how the mafia took over the sport in the US and how for decades world titles were effectively controlled by one man: Frank Carbo, the sinister 'Mister Gray'.Here is the story of the monopolistic International Boxing Club, known as 'the Octopus', and how it was succeeded by the worldwide governing bodies labelledthe Alphbet Boys, who many contend have ruined the fight game. Here also are revelations of fixed fights, bent ratings, rip-offs and kick-backs, a full accountof the undercover investigation into the corrupt International Boxing Federation, the machinations of Don King, Bob Arum and Jose Sulaiman, and the incredible saga of Harold Smith, the man who tried to buy the sport.

I confidently predicted that the Frenchman would beat Joyce, but I thought Joyce was robbed. Threw more, landed more, wanted it more.Supremo wrote:All this "robbery" talk is utter nonsense. Conlan went way over the top in his classless outburst. I thought it could've gone either way.
I was surprised that Buncey and Richie whose opinions I greatly respect were so censorious of the judges in that particular bout.

I'm quite fond of the baguette, but all things considered I'm not a fan. Berets are crap and eating snails and frogs legs is random, and a bit silly.coneye wrote:Don't care what you say , IF a frenchman EVER beats an Englishman at ANYTHING ,, then we wus robbed ,, There not to be trusted , they wear funny hats , drink wine not beer, walk around with dopey handle bar moustaches ,, eat smelly cheese , eat frogs,, yak , ride around on pushbikes with onions tied to them , and think that all english women want to shag them .. how can we possibly let them beat us at anything ,, we wus robbed![]()

Can you please tell me where I can find full fight videos of 2016 olympic boxing from Rio? I'm especially interested in super heavyweight fights.
