He hasn't faced Dimitrenko yet though. I was saying Price would be his 2nd best opponent assuming he was next for Parker.

I'd like to see Price in with Parker or Breazeale....or Allen or Whyte.....or anyone who isn't a journeyman.

I don't think Parker is as good as he's hyped up to be.
I haven't heard you say that before! Funny, because I've seen many people say the same, so I'm not really sure how overhyped he can be.
How does Price vs Parker go then? For all the talk about Price's power, he's arguably never beaten anyone than Audley Harrison, and we've all seen what happened the three times he moved beyond that. It's not like Erkan Teper is particularly difficult to hit or a much better puncher than Parker, and of course Thompson, who isn't anything close to a heavy-hitter, was routed by Parker-victim Carlos Takam.
Price is overrated as a threat and I imagine that he'd be terrified when Parker's quick hands started flying in his face. I've seen some argue that Parker's power is overrated, but Price couldn't even beat Pala without getting dropped on his ass, and I imagine that Parker would certainly have enough pop to KTFO him with a good punch or two.

Parker is all wrong for Price in that he will look to actually hit him back. That's when Price struggles.
Price looks a great fighter against overmatched journeymen. Against guys around the top 30, he falls apart. It's happened on 3 occasions. Parker is far too ambitious, hungry and aggressive for Price. He'd retreat in to his shell within 30 seconds and from then on its just a matter of when. Shame, but as mentioned above, an ancient Harrison is probably Price's best win.

Part of me (the bad part) would be curious to see if he could put a dent in Breazeale who looked to have a very solid chin but no defence to speak of.

Matching up Price with Parker is just a silly exercise really, for a variety of reasons;
Firstly, Parker is in a mandatory position for the IBF belt, and he has already lined up Dimitrenko in October for his awkward tall opponent warm up prior to tackling Joshua. He does not need to be taking unnecessary opponents thus potentially jeopardising his world title fight.
Secondly, Price has only had one fight since returning to his hatrick of KO's. I understand that he's now reaching the latter stages of his career and looking for those vital pay days, but he needs to realise that he needs to work towards that with the right fights. He does not deserve a title fight, and the fact that the IBF rank him inside their top 15 is almost as ridiculous as Haye being number 3.
I personally would like to see him potentially fight Whyte for the British title, and if (and that's a big if - cause I see Whyte beating Price), he wins then I think he would be in a position to call out Joshua.

Parker would easily deal with Price. Price hasn't beaten anyone of note so this 'dangerman' thing seems a bit overplayed. He can bang out bums but that's about it, when he fights someone who hits him back he crumbles. That's all there is to it. Breazeale, Parker etc etc I would expect they all have too much for him as they would all come to win. He's probably got the best chance with someone like Breazeale.

Why would Joshua want to fight Price?
Joshua has the world at his feet & everyone from David Haye's toe to my next door neighbour's cat is calling him out at the moment, so why would he even be thinking about old news like David Price?

I sense a bit of sarcasm there. Calm down. It's just an opinion. Also me saying I think Parker is overhyped by some doesn't mean I'm saying Price is anything special. The two can be mutually exclusive.
Regarding Thompson vs Takam- that's a valid point although Takam beat Thompson two years prior to fighting Parker so you'd imagine he's deteriorated a little since then at the age he is now.
Let's not pretend that Parker's win over Takam was incredibly impressive. He won a 115--113 decision. He started to gas pretty badly around the 5th and wasn't dealing with Takams pressure pretty well at all. He got hit with a lot of right hands against a shorter man who had a shorter reach.
Parkers chin saved him somewhat combined with the fact Takam was taking quite large periods of rounds off. There's a case to be had that he could have won a decision if he pushed the action more. At 35/36 though, he didn't seem to have the gas tank to do that.

I'm perfectly calm, and was just noting your affinity for claiming that Parker is a hypejob/limited/not someone you rate highly
The fight in question was Parker-Price, and hypejob or not, I think Parker wins that easily. I don't get why people think Price is such a dangerman when he's gotten his ass kicked all three times he's stepped above domestic level, twice by a slow, average punching Thompson, once by slow, plodding, open Teper. Against Parker, Price would have arguably the fastest hands in the division coming at him, hands with more than enough power to KTFO him, and I have little doubt that he'd shit himself as he usually does when a decent opponent actually goes after him. Again, simply having power isn't enough when Price is terrified to throw, goes down before he can land anything of note, and gets exhausted even when he does hurt opponents.
The question for me is, will Price ever do anything which eclipses his great win over faded Audley Harrison? You'd think such a dangerous guy would be capable of more.

For such a big powerful guy his jab against Teper was woeful. He knows he can't take a shot, and boxes like he's petrified of taking one. When the penny dropped with Wlad he worked on the power, speed and accuracy of his jab. He also worked on how to nullify his opponents offence. Hold, spoil, push head down, use jabbing arm effectively . Against Teper price just flicked out the jab and back peddled soon as Teper went on offence.
Seems from his last outing the plan to neutralise his weakness is to put on a stone or two in "bulk".
Price will always look destructive against knockover jobs, but will also get beat when he steps up. Which is a shame, nice guy...

I said the right fights, not the highest profile fights. Parker is very much in the world level category at the moment as the mandatory position in the IBF suggests. As I already alluded to, Price needs to focus on the right fights, and I think that is more on the domestic level currently. A fight against the likes of Whyte, Allen, even Chisora, would be the right kind of people to get in the ring with. If/when he came through such a test, he can set his sights a little bit higher. However at the moment, I'm not sure I back him to get through Whyte.
Price isn't setting his sights on a long term plan, he's probably a little too old to be thinking 6-7 fights to get to his title shot. I get what he's doing, but there is no attraction to Joshua or Parker to take on Price. There's guys ahead of them at the moment which are testing them in the right way, but either of them taking a step back to fight Price is currently a waste of time. If Price gets the
right fights under his belts (I cannot stress this enough), he can and will have a more valid reason to be demanding such things, but at the moment with one win against a journeyman since his hatrick of KO's is all looking a little bit sad and desperate.

Why would a world champion fight a guy who got sparked out cold by Teper in 2 rounds in second his most recent fight? Stop getting desperate.
If Joshua/Hearn sunk as low as picking Price they would get all the stick they deserve from the boxing community. The best fight for him right now is Pulev, who is 1000 times more dangerous than Price ever has been or ever will be.

Price has no momentum at the moment. He needs to just bite his lip and fight Dave Allen on the Bellew bill. If he goes and fights Tomasz Mrazek and then calls for a WT fight then it's just embarrasing. Bite the bullet and build some momentum.

Like I said before Parker will fight anyone.
Joshua who apparently got knocked out by Price. After a bit more reading into this, it seems Joshua was troubled by Prices style at the time (this was before the Olympics) with Joshua having trouble getting away from Prices right hand which apparently he wore throughout the sparring rounds wobbling Joshua until eventually he Joshua got knocked out. Styles make fights and maybe Price is an awkward type of fight for Joshua.
So I see why his fans DONT want Joshy to fight Price and why Joshua hasn't responded to Prices constant calling out and Prices claims of knocking him out. Joshuas said nothing! Has he been "silenced".. Cue in JOSEPH PARKER!! No fear.

Parker is not a world champion. If he was a world champion he wouldn't have fought Haumano and he wouldn't waste his time fighting Price either.
And there's absolutely no way Price would beat Joshua or any half decent fighter. The guy is absolutely terrible period. You just want Joshua to fight Price in the hope Parker can have an easy title shot. But the reality is Price will never beat a top 30 heavyweight.
And p.s. Parker wouldn't fight anyone. Kevin Barry won't let him anywhere near Ortiz or Povetkin. Definitely not Ortiz.
