Roberto Duran was mugged (or rather an attempting mugging) while he was running on the beach at Miami Beach in 1993.

Duran also tells of being attacked in 1989 in Miami while doing roadwork for the Barkley fight. Duran dropped the guy a couple of times but he kept getting up .Duran concluded the guy was on drugs and ran away.

sounds like the same story but in different years.
The one I remember reading was Duran was training in Miami Beach (at the DiLido Hotel)to go fight over in Europe.
Duran said he ran back to his hotel because the thug was getting all his "hommies" to chase him
