I can't believe that so many people give Brook more than 25% chance.

i'm saying basically none. i think even if brook does have some "moments" in the fight it will be because golovkin allows it, almost thinking to himself "i better let brook get a few shots off before i absolutely batter him".

If this were pro wrestling, thus bout would be like when Paul Mr Wonderful Orndorf fought Salvatore Bellomo. The helpless Bellomo found his Italian head buried between orndorfs legs as he brutally got pileddrived and carried out on a stretcher. It ain't gonna end well for Kell Brooks. He has no chance at all

Hell's only chance is like from that Simpson's episode where Homer becomes a boxer and visualises his opponent having a cardiac arrest.

Admittedly, I'm a GGG guy and feel he's the best MW i've ever seen But, I do give Brook better odds than most do in this one. The reasoning behind that is the unknown surrounding this one. We can all play this one out in our minds with what we already know about both fighters but we have never seen this Brook. We've never seen him climb through the ropes without cutting serious weight and i think that's the biggest factor. In my years cutting weight in college for wrestling, there were times when I had to fill in a couple weights higher than i normally wrestled at. Those were some of my better performances even though my competition was tougher at the higher weights. I had unlimited energy and wind. I could wrestle every second of every round when cutting weight, i'd have to do it in spurts.
I know wrestling and boxing lack similarities but both revolve around the scale and I'm thinking that we are going to see the best version of Kell Brook on Saturday. It may not even be close to enough to beat GGG but it's an unknown that i'd be concerned about if i'm GGG.

There is some merit to what you say, but when you consider all the variables, it isn't going to matter that much. If there was absolutely no advantage from dropping weight, no one would do it in boxing or wrestling. Day before weigh ins make it a big advantage.
Brook might feel stronger, but not cutting weight doesn't improve your skill set, or diminish your opponent's. Strength from not cutting weight is only one factor. GGG is better in pretty much every category, and we will see how it shakes out. How Brook takes good punches from GGG will be evident, and no one really knows how that will go.

Interestingly, Roman's and Gennady's betting odds are almost the same -- around 1/7-1/6.

Most likely you're correct and most people have it right on about this fight not being any kind of test for GGG. But I point to the fact that we are still talking about an undefeated world champion boxer here with Brook. It's not like he's a middleweight fighting at heavyweight. He's fighting at or around his natural weight and sidewise, he matches up just fine in this one. So in the ring, we are talking about two guys, the same size, neither guy has lost a fight professionally and one guy has home court advantage. I think this fight is going to be a lot closer than most think for some reason. I really do. I'm a GGG fan so i'd be just fine with him walking over Brook but I'd be concerned if i were in GGG's camp on this one.

Brook could win if he didn't have to take GGG's shots, but he does. And plenty of them. Kell doesn't have overwhelming speed of hand or foot, nor is he some kind of defensive master, so this is likely a war. Golovkin wouldn't want it any other way. To GGG that situation is like a sore dick, ya can't beat it.
The biggest problem I have with everyone thinking Brook is such a challenging opponent, is that a lot of things are going against him people don't wanna say. Kell bullies guys, imposes his strength early then dictates the pace. His strength is nullified against a guy who is stronger. Same with pace, Kell has shown he doesn't like pressure. He holds or stalls when he's the one getting pressured or touched up. It just doesn't happen that often. Partly because he has had so few top level opponents, partly because he is crafty and can just plain fight. He has overcome every obstacle to this point so fair play to him it's all worked out. Well that ends now. He picked the wrong melon farmer to fornicate with. I could be wrong and Kell makes me look like an idiot, but I doubt it.

Absolutely mouthwatering fight I can't wait to see it.
Incredible decision by Kell Brook to move up and take on GGG at this point,in terms of generating excitement Kell Brook has more than done his part.
I want to see the weigh in but so far it's hard not to go with GGG.

This is a good match, and a throwback sort of fight. A top welterweight moving up to take on a top middleweight. The problem(for Brook) is that Golovkin isn't just a top middleweight, he's the best one out there. It'll be competitive while it lasts. Brook will have to dig really deep in order to pull this off or even last the 12.

It's incredible the legitimacey this fight is being given, it's as big a mismatch as I can think of in recent ppv terms.
I thought exactly this until last night reading that GGG was unwell yesterday. Hope to god this doesn't impact on the outcome of the fight. I've said this below, but I think Brook's a bit tougher than folk think which is not a good thing against a GGG. Got a feeling he'll get drawn into a war. Whatever happens, it's a fight that's been hyped well. Mismatch indeed though.

He wasn't unwell. Hearn just threw that in as a part of promotion.

Brook 159.4
GGG 158.8

They look around the same size to me. Brook is very solid at 159.5 and would fit in fine at 160; GGG looking as he usually does.

There is no reason why Brook cant beat Golovkin. We know now that he had been 167 at fight night previously. He could easily add another 2-3 pounds with no detrimental effect. On the other hand his power and more importantly stamina will improve due to not cutting weight. By now its clear that we can disregard weight as a factor altogether. This fight will be decided on abilities and Kell Brook is a damn good fighter. I still favor GGG but I expect anything from this encounter. GGG 60/40.
