I have noticed that quite a few of the Wincobank boxers have a strange camp lisp type speech - Naz, Nelson, Rhodes, Brook - I can't work out how or why though :maybe:

Some kids get into boxing when they are bullied and it helps increase their confidence and self esteem. Therefore you will find that statistically boxers will have a higher percentage of traits that can lead to bullying( eg a lisp) than the general population.

You know i've been hearing that for years , me dad took me cos i was bullied , but to be honest , when i was a 10 year old and walked in a jym with me mates we went because we liked to fight , most did'nt stick it but some of us did , I never really met many who were there because they were bullied most were there to learn to fight / box ...because they liked to fight to start with , box has they progressed ...

Its a rush to shape up against another person who you know is just has powerful ,,, fit ,,, strong ,... and has good has yourself .. It never goes away and is something your born with ... I mean just writing this has got the blood pumping ,, the adrenelin going ,, i;m getting sweaty , tingly and a little nervous , cos i know tonights the night .. I;m gonna change things around , i'm not putting up with it no more ,, I'm getting me mad up :bag: :bag: ,,, and when she comes in from Bingo , i'm gonna tell her , in no uncertain terms ,,, your not having the remote , tape coronation st all you want ,, but i'm watching what i want to watch ,, and if she don't like it ....... I'll stand my ground and fight for it . :box: :box:

I've not caught any of the build up to this so far but my position was set firmly the day the fight was announced. GGG wins at a canter. I'm a fan of Brook and think he would do well against most other 147 fighters but this is too much for him. It's not like he's stepping up to fight a paper title holder, GGG is the premium fighter at the weight.

I know they'll have probably taken home a good chunk of cash each but i don't see why Khan or Brook have stepped up in weight so much for these fights. Khan was brutally ko'd and Brook is going the same way. Some might say they have nothing to lose but Khan has given more evidence to the fact he can't take a punch, it doesn't matter that it's at a higher weight and Brook will lose his undefeated record, confidence and who knows what else in a fight that shouldn't really have been made.

1/3 for GGG to win inside the distance is free money

Have you seen the massages Brendan used to give Herol years ago? it's on YouTube somewhere, maybe this has something to do with it, it's all very lavender.

Brook will come out in the first round and try to stand his ground. It will be reasonably competitive until about 30 seconds before the bell when Brook will have some success with a left hook. The crowd will get excited and Brook will think the unthinkable and go after Golovkin. He'll walk onto a straight right hand and his legs will go just as the bell sounds. He'll come out for the second round in a state of shock. Within a minute he'll be down for a long count and just as his corner is thinking of throwing in the towel a left hook will knock him out cold leaving ringsiders concerned for a while before he makes a full recovery.
Now there's a prediction!!!

A massage that causes you to develop a lisp?

Kell Brook is as confident as they come and there's no doubt he believes he can win.

Good luck to him. Hopefully he doesn't lose all that confidence regardless of a loss.

Some fighters aren't the same once that 0 goes.

I recall those massages. Concerned me at the time, now that others noticed the same thing it has me worried.

Apart from English and Mike Tyson the only boxers I can think of who have a softly spoken camp lisp all come from the same gym - how is that statistically possible?
