Good post mate.

Agree. He does fight more conservative at times. But he puts a lot into these attacks. I ve seen him breathing heavy a good few times now. Gulping for breath against brook. His staminas good its just that the tanks gonna run empty eventually and he ll get taking out. Its hard for a 24 year old to fight that way continually let alone a 34 year old luckily in his favour hes got the power. Pretty much everyones folded eventually against him but eventually he ll fight guys that will take his power better not only that but will continually fire back.

The guys that stick around the p4p are usually guys like mayweather. Pacman. Klitchko. Even crawford etc. All of the guys that are able to stay there dont win because of their power. Even klitchko it was his defence and reach etc. Pacman his speed more than his power.

Reminds me of mathysse. Not in the way they fight. But he was thought of as a monster on a lower level then garcia beat him. I think golvokins tremendous btw. Great to watch. Intellegent etc. But he will get taking out. I think he ll fold. It ll be down to the stamina tank imo.

Great night for Hearn, he's earned another million with very little risk. All tickets were gone to the ticket agencies within seconds as he knew they would be and SKY did all the promoting for Box Office.
Meanwhile he won't be undergoing a general anaesthetic operation and a medical balloon placed under the bones of his eye socket to push the bone back into place tomorrow. That 'pleasure' will fall on Kell Brook, who despite all the praise on here for his bravery, was battered by possibly the hardest punching middleweight in history, who punched so hard that he actually caused the damage.
I can't help believing that Hearn, annoyed by Eubank, was left with a date to fill, and chose Brook, in a mismatch, and EVERYONE with a knowledge of boxing new the outcome would be painful. All very cynical as far as I'm concerned.
Junior Witter said this morning that this will make Brook even better and after a couple of fights at light middle will be ready to face Golovkin again. I can offer some advice to Brook, don't even dream about out it until the Kazakh is picking up his pension.

You forget the small element of Brook being paid several millions for getting in the ring and that Eddie Hearn was basically doing his job, which is to make money for himself and his charges through promoting boxing shows.

Still a big ask of eubanks. Still needs to develop a bit more. But with the right game plan fancy him to get the job done. Golvokins gonna come unstuck eventually. A bigger stronger brook would have done it. Perfect style to beat him just wasnt big or strong enough. Martin murrays build and punch resistance with brooks skill would be the answer.

Actually see the canelo v golvokin as a 50/50 atm. Canelo,s a strong boy himself. Good counter puncher. Just his weaknesses play into golvokins hands a bit otherwise i d back him to win it.

Eubanks would probably lose to some out there but fancy his style to beat golvokin. He does have respectable power. Can punch in combo,s. Young. Fit. Athletic. Relentless when he wants to be. Can take a shot. Smart. Knows when to take a breather. Needs probably 2 years to progress. But fancy him for it. When it starts going wrong for golvokin it ll go wrong quickly imo. Looks invincible. Looks invincible. Then suddenly looks like hes not enjoying it. Then he ll fall apart. Mostly through tiredness and his style of fighting. Fancy eubank to stick around long enough in a fight to then put it on golvokin. At 34 after putting his best work in. He ll be a spent force.

With all those incredible gifts it's a wonder how Eubank could've lost the only time he faced a top 10 opponent. Get the man away from his domestic level punching bags and in with all the beasts of the division so he can show us how easily he can tame them. Maybe then up to 168 to clean up that division too.

Seriously though, I think Eubank has a flashy style that can cause people to seriously overestimate the worth of him beating up the type of opposition he has. Boxing is about levels and he failed as soon as he moved up to anything resembling world class, and wins over the lesser Chudinov, Spike, Blackwell, and Doran hardly make it obvious that things would be far different the second go.

You forget to mention Eubank's novice-like footwork that BJS exposed. GGG is another level completely.

Eubank Jr can't crack an egg at world level.

GGG has a solid chin and took shots of a banger in Lemiex for fun.

The scary thing for Chris is that he is pretty tough, which I fear equates to a serious list of injuries for him if he sticks it out too long.

Besides, it's all posturing from them - they dont have any intention of fighting him.

Completely agree with that mate but Eubank is no banger. Golovkin would walk through him

Fighting GGG is a very different matter to throwing sixty uppercuts a round against Nick Blackwell, I'm sure it goes without saying....

In reference to earlier posts, does Eubank even have 'respectable power'? Look at all the loaded up power shots people have taken round after round without going down....I remember in the 12th of the Chudinov fight, after Chud had already been hit a bunch, Eubank unloaded powershot after powershot after powershot, then backed up and shook his head in disbelief when Chudinov wouldn't go down or even buckle.

Stopping dross journeymen who've been knocked out a bunch or chinny Tom Doran doesn't prove much as far as power goes, no matter how flashy or confident Eubank looks.

It wont take a banger to beat golovkin. Hes gonna be a victim of his own style. The way to beat him is too match his pace. Then up it. He was gulping for breath against brook. I ve seen him breathing heavy a good few times now.

His style never lends well to an older fighter. Look at all the guys that aged well...they usually dont press a fight like that. Great talent but will be a victim to his own style. Eubanks will beat him. The speed of his footwork wont even come into it.

His stamina looked fine against Brook to me.

He was also still throwing heavy deep into the Murray fight and managed to stop him, and even in his toughest fight, against Ouma, he was letting heavy punches go in bunches until winning by stoppage in the tenth.

Not sure how you figure that pug?

Brook gave as good, if not better, performance than GGG has faced to date from any other legit MW.

Eubank has skills, has decent power and look bordering on world class.
But he's hittable and his arrogant style will see him walked down and punished IMO.
Unless he has his fathers jaw and then some, he'll be stopped as quickly as Brook but without looking as competitive.

I'd actually pick Brook to beat Eubank or BJS at 160.
I'd have both in the 60/40 to 70/30 range, in Brooks favour.

I actually agree that brook would probably beat eubanks junior. Still think eubanks beats golvokin tho.

just think eubank would be on a more even playing field in terms of size, and his hooking combos and lateral movement would mesh nicely with GGGs style, still a big ask though

He was gulping for breath against brook. I ve seen him breathing heavy a few good times now. The thing with ouma and murray was there was very little coming back his way. As soon as someone does match his workrate then ups it. He ll be done. Its not that he has a poor gas tank its just that he puts so much into it he leaves himself vulnerable. It even begs to reason any 34 year old fighting like that is gonna have a short life span at the top.

Two types of fighter will beat golvokin. A mover boxer like a mayweather even a bigger stronger brook would have done it or a younger man that can soak up his pressure and then push him back. I think eubanks tough enough to do it. If that fight went longer and brook was a career middleweight. Golvokin wouldnt have lasted the pace. My moneys on him falling apart not too many rounds after the fifth. People are falling in love with golvokin because hes terrific to watch plus is a highly skilled fighter but their bypassing things that are there to see because of it.

Its similar to tyson. When evander stood up to his shots and pushed him back he beat him. I genuinely think eubanks can do it. A bigger stronger brook would have as well.

He looked absolutely fine to me, and Ouma was definitely more active than Brook. Willie Monroe, Stevens, and Murray threw more as well.

GGG has his weaknesses, but I don't see stamina as one of them. He throws heavy, yet has never fought like he's badly gassed; it was Brook slowing down, not Golovkin.

Re: EDWARD HEARN

Posted: 12 Sep 2016, 08:18

As i said the problems not really his gas tank as such. Its that it cant keep up with his pace of fighting. Only seen the first couple of rounds of the ouma fight. But how many years ago was that. He wasnt 34. The commentators even commented on his breathing against brook. Went back to his corner after one of the rounds and was gulping for breath.

No 34 year old can keep that pace of fight up. The problem hes got is when he does try to control the pace and slow it down...hes hittable.

I ve seen it for a while. Just wasnt 100 percent sure till the brook fight. Dont get me wrong i love him. Think hes great to watch. But contrary to what people think...he is very beatable.

Brook wasn't really fighting at a higher pace than Monroe was after the first two rounds. GGG showed me no signs that he was slowing down--he wasn't any slower, his shots didn't lose their snap or become ragged--and he's never shown poor stamina in other fights. Presumably if it were any type of fatigue issue cumulative rounds and punches thrown would still be issues as well, yet we've seen GGG face and throw more punches over longer fights without seriously gassing.

But if it makes you feel better about Eubank's chances, go for it.

Why do you think stamina is a big weakness of GGG's? I've never seen him seriously gassed and he puts a lot into his shots.

Why so confident that Eubank wins that? Jr. has faced one top ten opponent and he lost....it's one thing to look good against British level guys like O'Sullivan, but another beat P4P level fighters like Golovkin. That said, one thing Eubank Jr. has going for him is those combinations, as I think GGG's looked most vulnerable when opponents stand their ground and let their shots go in bunches.

I don't see anything wrong with Triple G's stamina myself. Not yet anyway. He fights in such a high octane way. His opponents are going to need serious stamina because he is on them every second of every round and they can't afford to let him tee off.

The problem with golvokin is hes all in most of the time. Except for the brief breathers he takes. Hes getting older. Its not the his stamina is bad its that he excerts himself too much and is a sitting duck when the pace slows. His style of fightings suits a younger man. Eubanks will beat him a year from now
Other side to that is that Golovkin has kept himself healthy, he isn't cutting any real weight to be MW, he doesn't get bashed up, even against Murray he didn't take lots of big shots, he has had some breaks in his fighting schedule in the past couple of years and in terms of professional time he's actually "younger" than Brook. He'd have to age very suddenly for Eubank Jr to take him in the next 12 months. Plus CEJ would have to actually get around to signing a contract rather than (after the event) talking so much about a fight he effectively turned down.

Also, as someone else has pointed out and as guys like Macklin were pointing out ages ago, it is one thing to theorise that if you match Golovkin's pace and up it you'll beat him. It is entirely another to be able to do that when the guy is pummelling you for round after round. Most fighters go into a survival mode and those that don't get beaten up. Murray was able to bring serious strength and durability and underrated boxing skills and still the best he can do was to make to round 11. To beat Golovkin you'll need more than just high work rate and speed, you need a solid enough punch to stop him walking through it, a solid enough chin to take his best shots (they will land), a strong body because that takes a beating as well, a seriously high stamina level and the guts to effectively try to ignore his punches at points in the fight. Can't see a single fighter out there with all of those. He has weaknesses but not enough of them yet for anyone to be even a 50-50 against him in my book.

I ve seen him breathing heavy in other fights. I ll need to sit down and watch the fights again although i ve seen quite a bit of golvokin cant remember how all the fights went exactly tbh. But picked up on it a good few times. The problem is hes unloading then trying for a breather the opposition hes fighting not been up to capitilising on it. When hes trying to get his breather thats when you push him back. Guys like murray didnt have enough going forward. But the level of guys hes fighting is about to go up or pose different challenges even. Thats when you ll see it. Eubanks got the style of all the guys to do it. Hes tough. Relentless when he wants to be. Fit. Young. Athletic. He ll beat him in a years time if he takes the correct fights. Even tho lesser people could beat eubanks. I m still tipping him to take golvokin.
