Andrew Kearney wrote:Golovkin dominates and stops Brook in 5 rounds, a somewhat embarrassing TKO loss for Brook and his team in front of his own English fans. Brook deserves credit for taking the fight when others avoided GGG, but it was clear he was outgunned and his trainer saved his career and possibly his life by stopping the beating he was taking in round 5.

Before the fight, there were a number of self proclaimed "boxing experts", and "future predictors" on this site who stated that Brook would win the fight, and would pull the upset over GGG. Where are these guys now and what do they have to say for themselves? Where are all these "winners" and "boxing experts" now when we need them eh?

Jezzamundo, SFW, StrapMeUp I'm reaching out to you "boxing experts" on the forum.

Wow, you picked a 1/6 winner. Well done you

GGG certainly didn't dominate Brook nor was Brooks performance embarrassing. Kell gave a very good account of himself and was competitive. He was better than any of GGGs opponents to date who fight at their natural weight.

Also I didn't know to anyone who's opinion I respect picking Brook. Apart from the casual fans wrapped up in the Matchroom hype machine they we're few and far between.

Oh I also picked and bet on Brook to win inside 6. Well done me

I thought Brook might cause an upset and pinch it.........

Feel free to start a pointless thread mocking those of us who shamefully failed to predict the winner

I predicted it wrong as well, but was still closer to the actual result as most people were, don't worry, such things happen.

Did you actually predict a 5th round win?

In my opinion, I not only predicted the correct outcome of the fight, including picking the round when the bout would be stopped, but I also described how the contest would play out.

I don't feel proud of this accomplishment, because I always felt that the GGG-Brook fight was a mismatch, with the result being inevitable. Stating the obvious shouldn't be applauded!

My only regret is that I didn't have enough courage in my convictions to put my money where my mouth was, by placing a bet on the outcome.

How did you 'describe how the contest would play out'?
Did you predict it would be an injury that would stop the fight with no knockdowns and a competitive fight in the rounds prior?

I did not predict the injury and nor did I predict the fact that there weren’t any knockdowns. If I had done so, you’d probably challenge my inability to predict the amount of punches landed etc.

I did predict an exciting and a "superficially" competitive contest, where Brook would "appear" to enjoy some early success. I also predicted that the bout would last as long as Golovkin wanted it to… and as soon as the Kazakh made a premeditated decision to up the pace, this would force the stoppage. I also believed that GGG would try to his up-most to dispose of Brook in quicker fashion than Canelo's KO victory over Amir Khan, hence my 5th round stoppage prediction.

So “no”, I don't claim myself to be the second coming of Nostradamus and I take no credit for the accuracy of my predictions, because as I stated before, I was merely stating the obvious.

How many people actually predicted a Brook win?

There can't have been more than a handful.

Most people picked Golovkin, whilst a few thought Brook might do better than he did, but I don't recall seeing that much comment about Brook winning.

Is this the twilight zone? I've been bashing Brook over this fight constantly and said GGG would walk through him. He did. What is this douche bag Andrew talking about?

Talking shite. I posed the rhetoric question, on CHB, that if Golovkin and Brook were both 'Top-Trump' cards then what strength could Brook confidently hold over Golovkin. The resounding answer was "none".

Who was ahead on points at the time of the stoppage means nothing. Kind of like Khan vs Canelo or Khan vs Garcia. If all you can say is that you were ahead before getting KTFO, its pretty sad. Lots of boxers can lead in the cards, then get KO'd. Its not like they put a big *** next to the KO result.

Not too much of a dumb racially tinged statement there.

95% of people who will vote for Hillary have no idea who Brooks or GGG are.

I'm predicting Carlos Cuadras to pull the upset on Chocolatito tonight, and if I'm wrong, I'll still be right here to talk about the fight anyhow. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, won't be the last.
Perhaps, but it's a cunts trick to crow so loudly that you start threads to do it. This is particularly bad given that GGG was a huge favourite, so well done I guess for backing the more than obvious favourite. I will look out for AK's boxing knowledge in future.
:TU: the only person I saw pick brook was bnovelist. I was quite vocal that size wasn't an issue and brook would give him his best test to date. I was right.

Don't argue. Just go to PTBF 2016 - RULES & STANDINGS THREAD and see who has 0 in the first numeric column.

I can bnovelit bnovelist picking Brook.
I give GGG full credit fir beating Brook. In my opinion his best name on his resume.
I did think it would last 8 or 9 rounds. Oh well I missed a prediction again. Nothing new.

I wish Brook a speedy recovery and hope he gets Canelo next

Well I predicted on a thread in the UK forum that Brook would win on points, I based my prediction on Brook being able to make himself a lot more elusive than he did and not trading with triple g. Oh well, guess I was wrong.

I look forward to the TS's forum where everyone agrees with each other, there is no debate and any who steps out of line is subject to public humiliation...

Well I was a heart v head man with my prediction, and I was correct on Golvokin stopping Kell Brook but just got the round wrong.

I thought the fight was really good. Brook just folded under the pressure, which seems to be the case with most G opponents. I don't think Brook was outclassed or dominated. He showed he was the quicker and flashier of the two. G is just a terror. If I'm being honest, if I'm a pro fighter any where near GGG's weight class, I would steer clear of that man, too... Dude is terrifying! I was sitting there watching him stalk Brook like prey closing in to that last round. Scary stuff man...

They sure are, and those who do show their faces usually attempt to twist things around after the event.
Yep, these boxing "experts" like jezzamundo, SFW, and StrapMeUp either try to deny that it happened in the first place, or they twist their words around to make it seem like something other than it was. Or they simply go AWOL after theyve been proven wrong. It's important that we point these phonies and fraud posters out to the other posters so that we know who we're dealing with here.

Hopefully by doing that it will help to sort this site out, get things really cleaned up around here and sorted out :TU:
Andrew, I'm going to give you the benrfit of the doubt and assume that you misremembered my post. Feel free to check my post history if you like, but not once have I claimed to be a boxing expert and not once did I predict Brook would beat GGG. We disagreed over some of the finer details of the fight, but ultimately we both got it right, though I never made a round prediction. I await your apology.
