I rarely moan about eddie cause i think hes been great for british boxing. Dont think i like the monopoly tho. Hes went down the route of most monopolys snuff out the competition then take advantage of it. Hence the reason we re stuck with all the ppv,s. I m not one of them that dont want to stick my hand in my pocket cause i love boxing. But some of them fights your thinking i need to pay for that on top of my sky subscription. People saying we should be thankful that eddies a boxing fan cause sky would have got rid of boxing if they had a chance. But how much quality boxing are we really getting on sky sports without ppv.

We surely have more people winning world title fights away from home, than before, say in the FW era.

Though as a Jamie McDonnell fan, I find his lack of activity and hard away fights kind of frustrating. Hope they're negotiating the WBA "unification" with Rau 'she Warrento come over here but don't expect it.

McDonnell and Degale are surely due a homecoming, and a big fight homecoming at that. Not sure if the circumstances but they've surely earned it on the strength of their performances, winning close fights away.

Some fighters are far too inactive, you are right, but plenty of fighters are too active also. Just look how many one-sided and pointless six rounders we have to sit through on every sky card.

Yes it's worse going to the fights, you have at least 4 hours of mostly dull fights then 45 mins of nothing while Sky hype the main event for TV.

Current boxing expects us to understand we're watching what's best for this lad and that lad. Seems to be OK with Hearn if it helps them get there in the end. End justifies the means.

So you pray for a great main event.

I doubt if sky will ever get rid of boxing completly , theres just to much money in it ,,, but i can see later down the track people getting pissed off at, at being charged for non events , stop buying ppv and sky ditching it ,, But the big genuine fights , well they are always going to be broadcast somewhere , when they happen its a big pie and someone always wants a slice ,,

But really in hindsight , is a welter weight , jumping up to fight a devastating punching middleweight , what people want to pay for , it may be entertaining for a while, but has we seen it ended up just has predicted , It was never going to be a Hatton - Kosta , or a Benn --Eubank , It was always going to be a big payday and get your face known fight ,, with the main strategy being Pulling out at the right time ,

Was it wrong course not Kell earnt enough to retire , enhanced his name , and will live to fight another day ,, But really are people going to keep on paying for it with there hard earned or will they eventually stop buying , If they do stop buying ,, the big fights will still be there one way or another ,

Suppose its up to Joe Public to , demand the right fights after all if no one bought these fights, and demanded to see , say Canelo -- GGG then they would fight each other or retire with thousands not millions in the bank .... If Khans next PPV is a flop he may well want to fight Kell .... Its up to the punters really to say enough is enough , and if they stop paying it will happen promoters will want the best fights to sell to Sky free to air or whatever , but at the moment Eddie is contracted foe x amount of ppv's but there just is;nt enough stars to go around , especielly stars who will fight each other

100 percent agree. Seems that everythings improved for everyone but the fans. Even just half decent fights are to be paid for...all they do is get the sky cheerleaders on it deceive the fans then go on with the next one.

We keep talking about what eddies done for british boxing and how great it is...but what has he actually done for the fan. Except fleece them for money. I know its a choice to buy the ppv but if your a boxing fan that loves boxing your left with very little on regular sky sports thats not cheap itself.

Tbh i buy pretty much all the ppvs apart from joshua/white and i dont really mind it...ends up a cheap nite for me as opposed to going out. But dont tell us we should be thankful for it. Or dont tell us we cant criticise the business model.

Half the problem is hes not building the fighters right the proper way. Look at hatton. Naseem. Etc. We watched half their careers without paying for it. And they were exciting enough to become ppv fighters. When the massive fights came along you didnt mind paying for it. But hes just rushing to make everything ppv.

Out of all the fighters on saturday nite the only home fighter i really knew or had watched previously was brook.
And i m quite a big boxing fan. Never heard of charlie edwards. Let alone seen him fight. Even joshua he ll make millions off him...people were starting to get behind him. Then he whisks him off to ppv far too early against guys that should never be on ppv. Again great for the boxers and the promoter...but not quite so good for the fan

Brook-GGG will surpass any numbers AJ has done to date.

I dunno why Eddie is getting so much flack for PPVs - I don't like them or agree with them, but Frank put on plenty of absolutely terrible ones when he was Sky's main promoter. It would be the same for any promoter with a Sky deal.

Some were better, some were worse. Some of the early Khan fights that were PPV were shocking, worse than any of the Joshua PPVs imo.

i agree with you, we would have uk boxing till midnight then the yank undercard fights starting about 1am, in between was a bit of gary mason (RIP big man) swearing etc...

the current hearn undercards have been poor, for a ppv i thought the brook undercard was poor, obviously the fights are made to budget and so much dosh was blown on the main event the undercard was a paupers shoestring. what was charlie edwards purse?.....i bet it was piss poor.
