I've just read that the "Tesco Joe" comes from him working part time at a Tesco's in Wythenshawe when he was first starting out as a trainer.

The dog allegations were on his wiki page for ages along with the Tesco comments - only removed in the last couple of weeks

Kid at my school was caught walking his dog off. Ironically his name was jason fox.
