I wouldn't relish being hit by Micky Wards left hook to the body...

Frazier was easily manageable by a big, powerhouse Heavyweight with 45's and uppercuts. Very easy for Foreman to hit, a mouth watering target who led with his head, like Ken Norton .... Tyson was almost as wide open a target as Frazier, but bigger, stronger, and faster. Little Mike was dead meat for Douglas and Lewis, who couldn't wait to get at him .... Dempsey and Foreman were easy marks for a brilliant jabber with a rifle right .... Johnson was very difficult to hit cleanly, but not very big at 6'1" X 208 in perfect condition for Jeffries. I see JJ having problems with bigger, taller, very skillful boxers with much big reach advantages .... Tunney was too small. 192 at his heaviest ... Louis could be outboxed by any Heavyweight with Billy Conn's skills combined with tremendous height, weight, and reach. Bear in mind that Conn could be hit. He lost 11 fights .... Ali lost to Norton and Frazier and wasn't a scary boxer or puncher. Too easy for skilled boxers to hit .... Holmes was a great boxer, but not a great puncher. He hit the deck from hard rights 3 or 4 times .... Lewis was a great boxer-puncher with tremendous height, size, reach, and strength, but LL could be reached by a good right hand puncher. Lewis could be taken out with 1 shot anytime from round 1 to round 12. He was vulnerable .... Wladimir Klitschko always seemed hesitant and scared. He's reluctant to get back in the ring with fat and flabby Fury after losing badly .... Vitali Kltschko had badly battered legs from Kickboxing that bothered him his whole career. As a result he was a bit stiff and slow.
At the present time I don't see any holes in the game of Anthony Joshua... He has height, weight, reach, speed, skills, and resistance... He has an inside game, an outside game, a body attack, a strong defense, great balance, timing, and the best right counter shot in the division... He has the height, size, and strength of a Klitschko; the chin of Dempsey; the speed and power of Tyson; the jab of Holmes; the reach of Lewis; the cleverness of Tunney; the conditioning of Wladimir; and the perseverance of Holyfield.
Don't tell me how green AJ is or that it's too early to rate him... Tell me where he has more holes in his game than the above ATG Heavyweights. What punch is AJ lacking? What does he get hit with? What would he get hit with if he faced Fury, Wlad, or Ortiz? Anything that might drop him? I don't see how they get to him. Who has been able to reach him, floor him, stop him, or pound on him? Nobody has come close. I see a slight problem if he fought Ortiz right now---but I don't see that fight happening for 2 years.
There's being a troll, then there's just being a disagreeable arsewipe for the fun of it.
I have "The Hate Game", it's a great read about Eubank & Benn's rivalry - I've read it twice. And reportedly Eubank was p1ssing & sh1tting blood for over a week after his fights with Nigel.Bodyshot3 wrote:Nigel Benn in a foul mood and having taken a deep personal dislike to me. For me, I would definitely have to agree with Mr Tomasino when he said;davie wrote:Who would be the last man you would get in a ring with?
It would be a genuinely terrifying prospect. (But a great honour all the same, if that makes any sense at all)Tomasino wrote:Rocky Marciano.
I'd always imagine that if you were fighting someone like an Ali, Walcott or a Patterson that they would spend a round or two flicking their jabs out and watching what way you move. They would allow you time to settle in and (perhaps) even enjoy yourself for a bit.davie wrote:Who, if you were a fighter, would you avoid like the plague? And why???

But if you were to face a Rocky Marciano - you're talking about unceasing aggression, unbridled fury, a great engine and explosive power in both fists.
Personally, I think any of us would be doing well to get out of the first round.
Good answer. I would probably err on Tyson just because of that combination of speed, power and aggression.gilgamesh wrote:Since I'm not a fighter, and therefore just about any vicious fast starting fighter would a nightmare for me to be stuck in the ring with. Of course that probably goes for several other fighters as well, but I know damn well those guys would jump on me without mercy.
glad you mention those guys but zivic was a superb boxer into the bargain. highly skilled and you wouldn't win a round against himbwu wrote:Literally every man who has ever laced on a pair of gloves would be tied for first place. If I had actual skills, I would avoid the Fritzie Zivics and Mysterious Billy Smiths of the world. You might win, but you'll take a lot of damage getting there. You could easily lose, especially if they anger you enough to match them foul for foul.
It was a real good shot to the chin, but Joshua didn't go down... he didn't stagger... he didn't go wobble legged... he didn't clinch or grab... he didn't run... he was back on the attack before the round was over... Joshua took control and beat his undefeated and more experienced opponent by brutal KO... None of the numerous head shots Foreman ripped little Joe Frazier with stretched the little guy for the count... 6'4" X 245-pound Whyte was supposed to have a rock solid chin and he got iced... There never was a single world famous boxer who never got hit real good - including AJ... What happens when you get hit real good? That's the question.Syntax Error wrote:Except the time when the limited Dillian Whyte walloped him & stunned him to his boots.Kalan wrote:You're being an asswipe. Any past ATG had holes in his game. Very true about Zivic. Any man who has wins against Armstrong, Burley, LaMotta, Jenkins, Angott and so many others, is formidable.aliboy123 wrote:glad you mention those guys but zivic was a superb boxer into the bargain. highly skilled and you wouldn't win a round against himbwu wrote:Literally every man who has ever laced on a pair of gloves would be tied for first place. BTW, let me make it clear, not only would I be beaten by every man who ever stepped in the ring, I'm sure all the women who have done so would kick my ass as well.
It is an excellent read Crease..and although Nigel is a good dad and husband, as well as a god-fearing man and great raconteur at sporting events now...there's no escaping the fact that he really put it on people when he fought and was not too bothered by the hurt side of things.I have "The Hate Game", it's a great read about Eubank & Benn's rivalry - I've read it twice. Definitely doesn't sound the most pleasant of experiences.....
Graham is an interesting choice.......made good fighters look foolish/clueless and the more you tried to close the distance and rough him-up the more often and cleanly you get countered and the rounds keep on slipping by.Probably Herol. If you fought a puncher, he‘d close the show early. WHAM BAM, end of fight. With Herol, you‘d be swinging at the air and getting frustrated. Then he‘d hurt you.

Greb would have reveled in MMA.
