If it is a "severe elbow injury" then Eubank jnr should be out for a long time. It's generally harder to treat than a knee injury, for example.

Eubank jnr's experience and results made him a clear favourite over Langford, who lacks experience, but it was a worthy Britsh title fight. A lot worse matchups have been made.

I feel sorry for Langford who strikes me as ambitious, so he must be gutted to find this out.

Is Langford still Commonwealth champ?

Hope he fights someone who can bang like GGG (no chance) Jacobs or Lemeiux so we can see him get KO'd whilst Chris Senior bobs around at ringside yelling "beat him up Christopher! Attack the trunk and the tree will fall!"

I reckon they have realised this is a potential banana skin, the last time Eubank boxed anyone a lot taller then him (Tyan Booth) he was 36-40 down after four rounds.

Langford is no bum and it was a risky fight for Team Eubank.

I agree. Eubanks are all about risk vs reward. Minimum risk for maximum reward. Langford wasn't showing up to make up the numbers

Wazza was fuming he said that the doctors note said Eubank Jr. had tennis elbow and needed to go for an MRI, not some severe injury from sparring a 14 stone opponent. He said they were going to sue him.

I mean to be almost be fighting GGG to then fighting Langford is a pretty big fall from grace. He's clearly not been very motivated for this fight, and since not turning up to the obligatory press conferences, being docked big chunks of money, means the fight is becoming very worthless very quickly. Throw in the addition of the estranged relative on the same card, and there's even less motivation to be there on the night.

It seems there is a series of excuses behind the cancellation. The most legitimate is the elbow injury, as it has seemingly been signed off by a BBBoC doctor. That said, I still don't believe it. He's either faking the injury, or they're lying about it being verified. Is this before or after an MRI?

Secondly, they believe that there is too vast a gap in levels between the two fighters, suggesting it is dangerous for them to share a ring. I think this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I'm sure when Joshua shared the ring with Gary Cornish or Charles Martin it was a similar mismatch, but these still went through. I think the Nick Blackwell stoppage is getting to his head. He severely hurt Blackwell, but it's not like he knocked him out inside 3 rounds is it? It is one of them freak incidents which has resulted in a bleed in the brain.

The Eubanks are getting themselves in a position that they are going to have no options for a big pay day. As far as I'm concerned they have severely burnt any bridges with FW and BN, thus potentially damaging any rematch against Billy Joe. He's also seriously pissed off the Hearns, although I do believe if there is a big money fight on the cards, Eddie might still make the effort. That said, GGG was a debacle. Eubanks Sr needs to swallow a bit of pride and let other guys run the show. Either that or self promote fights....

He'd take the fight at short notice. Langford-Mathews and the winner gets Ogogo.

Frank paid 300k for the purse. Huge for British title.

While all this is going on Eubank jnr is earning nothing, no income. In addition both Matchroom and Queensberry will be difficult to deal with in future negotiations. One possibility could be America, with Haymon or others. Chris snr started his career in New York and must still have connections.
Chris snr thinks he's cleverer than he actually is, is he still a rich man after his lucrative boxing career? I don't know the answer to that one.
His son seems a chip off the old block. They're entertaining and independent but they don't have the skills to negotiate properly.

GGG's manager has also come out today and said that they won't be dealing with the Eubank's whom he describes as "clowns" in the near future. His options are rapidly dwindling. I could potentially see a grudge match with Kell Brook next summer though if Hearn can stand to deal with the Eubanks again.

Well I know promoters aren't exactly well known for taking the moral high ground, but we're talking about a fighter here that has let the very fans down that line his pocket.

Yep agree totally. He blatantly didn't want to go ahead with the fight - and I don't particularly object to that in itself - but he shouldn't have signed up for it in the first place. Massive disrespect to all concerned.

The Eubanks are making themselves look more and more like clowns. I mean, I know they were always clownish even pre-GGG, but the way they've been acting in the last month defies belief.

They've been going on about GGG ever since Eubank Jr debuted practically, and when they are offered a contract to fight him, they refused to sign it citing ridiculous 'dollar dropping to fighter' reasons. Then when Kell Brook steps up in weight, and loses, they both tweet stupid things about not owning towels. A comment that would've been awful enough, even if they hadn't wet themselves and run away as soon they were offered the GGG contract.

And on top of all of that, after all his hard-man, I don't give up when injured, my team don't own towel talk, he's suddenly too injured to fight Langford? Injuries happen in boxing, of course, and people would have patience if he hadn't have given everyone else such grief about what an injury ignoring, towel hating hard-nut he was.
