Its a Mayweather Pacman situation. Both promotional teams know they will make more money in the long run by not fighting each other too soon, they will run their careers parallel to one another all the time suggesting they are about to get it on, without any intention of actually making the fight in the nearest future.
Thats my take on it. Like May Pac i believe it will happen, but not until they have milked the interest in it to the maximum and beyond, at which point it will happen. I would say second part of 2017 at the earliest, but more likely in 2018.

Both sides know the longer this goes on the bigger the hype becomes and more $$$$
Getting the upper hand on each other fight wise is just a small part of it

I tend to agree with what Ali wrote.
I was ringside when Canelo fought May and the former was devoid of ideas from the 4th round - I just don't think he has the ability at the upper echelons. An awesome fighter when he is on the offence, and can pace the fight and work on his strength advantage - he was great at that last week.
I'd have thought GGG will just go inside early and be far more effective.

Cotto the littler definitely wobbled him. I tend to suspect it won't happen ,, I think Canelo is actualy running a bit scared , Oh he wants to fight him but not yet , I think he's willing to drag it out for a couple more years , and wait for GGG to get old , that supposedly mexican pride just is'nt showing up , He stated he DEMANDED his promoter got him Cotto and a couple of other fights ,, but he does'nt want to DEMAND this one , I just don;t think he has the confidence to figt someone his own size and ability .
GGG i think he wants it but give him a couple more fights and he'll retire , i think he's to proud to want to lose because he has got to old and especielly to a bully who's been blatantly ducking him

Golokin's team have made a counter offer to Alverez and his team, as quiet rightly the small flat fee offered by Alverez and his team to Golokin for the fight, is normally offered to class B fighters and an insult to Golokin's standing and level. Golokin wants a percentage split, similar to the one between Mayweather and Alverez.

He did well to get through it with as little fuss as he did, but little Cotto is no GGG. I know it was years ago, and down in weight etc, but it's just hard to see him taking GGG's shots knowing that he has been rocked by a much much lighter puncher.
