Ridiculous comment. By that logic, Ortiz should've ruled the division for a decade. He's a top 10 fighter, but loses as soon as he steps into the ring with anyone who can box and hit real hard. A boxer/puncher.

He doesn't beat Wlad, Joshua, Povetkin, Wilder or Fury. He's just too slow. I'd argue that him against Parker is a 50/50 fight. Plus, he's probably older than Wlad.
Have you seen the way he closes down the ring? The only way he gets beaten is by being taken into the later rounds. His stamina is definitely the worst in the top 10.

I'm not sure that Ortiz is the best heavyweight out there just now but his style makes him the most dangerous prospect for Wlad.

Although AJ has power he has a more straight forward upright style that I think would suit an on form Wlad. If Wlad fought as he did a couple years back, I could see him working out AJ and managing him through 12 rounds and maybe even walking him onto one.

Luis Ortiz style makes him a very different puzzle to solve for Wlad and I would favour him. Strongly favour him if Wlad fights anything like he has in his last couple.

I surprised so man are confident that Ortiz, a smaller man than Wlad, can knock him out, given Wlad's perfect opponent is a smaller one trying to knock him out that he can jab and spoil. Plus Wlad has one of the biggest punches in the sport, I'm not sure I'd be so confident Ortiz could take it.

No, wlad's nightmare opponent is a smaller man trying to knock him out. See all three of his stoppage victors. Samuel Peter (lol) was so close to being another.

Wlad's ideal opponent is someone who doesn't try (is incapable of doing) anything, aka almost his entire list of opponents during his 'reign'.

In before new and improved wlad etc etc.

Besides, exactly how much smaller than wlad do you think Ortiz is? He doesn't even need to be 6'4 to brutalise wlad, he has a skill set unlike anything klit has seen.

Tell us about the hell Chisora would've put him through, and how Del would've had a great chance of beating him.

Also, how about describing the manner in which Price would've surely knocked him out.

You're comparing Ortiz to Chisora and price?

Nope, although you were also confident of their chances of beating Wlad, and I think in Price's case you were promising that he'd knock him out.

It's easy to forget how many people were crazy about Price, even more so than Ortiz.

The chisora who took it to vitali for 12 rounds, winning 4? Not unreasonable to give him a shot vs wlad, who historically has fallen to pieces under pressure. Other versions of chisora, perhaps not.

Price was a busted flush. Again, Price is not Ortiz or anything close.

Ortiz is like an improved version of Sanders, so I think he can give Klitschko a lot of problems.

Ortiz, P4P, is the most overrated fighter in the sport. Given that he's a heavyweight, that's quite the statement.

You have to be very careful if you come forward against Wlad.
Should be a good fight ...

... then again, anything is better than the worst heavyweight title fight in history.

I sort of feel bad for Wlad. Imagine going through two training camps and having both fights postponed by that clown Fury. How they haven't stripped those belts away yet is beyond me.

At first, i was happy that the heavyweight division could finally be done with Wlad and get back into the public eye. But Fury's probably done more damage to the title's prestige than Wlad ever did. Joke.

I agree, Wlad has has had some pretty bad luck being involved with Fury. First a dire match and performance (his own fault), and then being dragged through all this mess for 12 months, with no immediate signs of it coming to an end.

He's been so keen to get on with this, kept in shape, been to all the press conferences, done the correct preparation for the proposed dates, and only to be messed about by this guy. Klitchko is over 40 now, and arguably only has a handful of fights left in his career. If the shoe was on the other foot, Klitchko has already had another defence, and probably shaping up for a second by now.

As far as Ortiz goes, I really do rate him. His knockouts of Jennings and Thompson were impressive demonstrations. He moves incredibly well for his size, and packs an almighty punch. How he'd deal with being taken into deep waters is a key question, and you fancy Klitchko to use his experience to blunt him. However can he Ortiz KO Klitchko? Without a shadow of a doubt. He's dangerous, and Klitchko would have to use every bit of his experience to stay out of trouble.

In that case any fighter CAN beat any fighter, even if the chances are astronomically low. Question is then meaningless. So CAN here means Will.

Ortiz is fast becoming a bogeyman of the division, essentially a HW Rigo. Because all these fighters and promoters they take one look at him and big L flashes in front of their eye. His shoddy promotional situation isnt helping either. Unless he somehow manage to muscle his way into mandatory title spot noone will fight him, EVER.

I ment that Ortiz do not bring any money to the table. So why to get involved with southpow which can be be very uncomfortable opponent and not get some more comfortable to beat.
Businesswhise, Haye or even Price are much more preferrable...any Europian is better for business than Ortiz, actually.

He probably would whoop Wlad's ass, but I doubt he gets the opportunity. Can't blame Wlad though if he goes for Anthony Joshua instead. Joshua is just as dangerous and the money would be a lot bigger to fight him as well.
