All square after 3. Towell forcing the fight and well on top. Evans feeling it but can Towell keep fighting at this tempo?
Anno mate! Bias!LancashireLoyal wrote:this guy doing co commentary.... does he realise Evans is even in there?
Ian Mccloed and don't know the other guy.LancashireLoyal wrote:this guy doing co commentary.... does he realise Evans is even in there?
Not a big puncher on paper but he looked like he has a bit of a dig. As soon as the pace dropped from Towell you could tell who the better boxer was. Excellent fight though. Looking forward to more of the same on STV. Hopefully a few more young Scottish guys will take the chance and step up. Far too many are happy fighting journeymen again and again.ShadrachSimmo wrote:All over. Towell way too easy to hit and Evans not a big puncher.
Good little fight.
That's the first I've seen Towell and I wasn't too impressed. Good coming forward but Evans was too crafty. He held when he had to but countered well and his class showed.CharlesListon wrote:Evans does have a big punch.
I tried telling the jocks on here 12 months ago that Towell didnt cut the mustard.
He might have had a reach advantage but he isn't good enough to go in there and outbox Evans, so he had to try and put it on him but he couldn't sustain the intensity needed to keep Evans quiet. Even when he was on the front foot he was still fairly wild, against journeymen that will be enough to put them away, but stepping up against fighters like Evans he'll end up missing alot and getting countered, if he'd ended up in with Skeete it would have been a massacre.LancashireLoyal wrote:fair play to Dale Evans though the fight was turning in Towells favour. Not sure of the stats but Towell definitely looks more to have more range I dont know why he started like that,he could have broke Evans down behind the jab and probably stopped him late on.
He did your right I'm being a bit unfair cos he dropped Eggington with a fcukin peach of a shot too.Stuarty30 wrote:Not a big puncher on paper but he looked like he has a bit of a dig. Yeah think he should be (touch wood). He's exciting enough to watch I'll give him that much. Has to get behind the jab and use educated pressure though. If he was to concentrate on the basics and matures a bit and finds the right temprement he could come again. A lot of work needed but I'd like to see him again. I don't fancy Evans chances against Skeete if that happens but I hope he gets his shot after Foot.ShadrachSimmo wrote:He did your right I'm being a bit unfair cos he dropped Eggington with a fcukin peach of a shot too.Stuarty30 wrote:Not a big puncher on paper but he looked like he has a bit of a dig.
