What is it with boxers and hanging out with gangsters? Benn being mates with Tony Tucker, all the issues around MGM... These lads are bad news. I suppose boxers are not really renowned for having much sense.

For the record I quite like Bellew, for in his quieter more contemplative moments he seems like a good bloke, and he obviously knows that getting himself a bit worked up shifts tickets. He was easily the best thing in Creed and the Makabu win was fantastic, so I say fair play to him.

As someone said, he's totally different as a person and as a fighter, especially during fight week. I always used to interview him on Friday evening's after weigh ins as he'd had a chance to relax by that point. We've added him as a columnist, totally honest and always gets a lot of reads. He's similar to DeGale as he divides opinion. I've always found both really approachable. Once did a bemusing interview with TB at the Echo. A gang of lads behind us were being really rowdy so he put his arm around me to "Get you away from these lot, just in case they kick off" and kept his arm around me for the interview. We got a few odd looks, but that pretty much sums him up in some ways, he's a good guy who knows how to sell a fight and doesn't mind putting his black hat on when the time comes.

If he continues to fight in the vein of his last 2 fights then I will become a fan because he is backing it up

You simply can not speak that much toss and then give Mo Farah a run for his money in the ring but he is living up to his nickname now

His antics wash over me.

Im old enough to remember Jimmy Corkhill from Brookside though.
