I actually think Hughie fury would beat him now.
To me that's how most EBU level guys---and Price has never beaten anyone at that level---would look against Fury. Price doesn't possess the unorthodox skill that Fury does, doesn't take a shot or keep range as well, and isn't nearly as good when someone is actually punching back.

I remember that even after the back to back losses to Thompson people were generally predicting that Price would wipe out Teper, and I was dumbfounded as to why. He's suffered embarassing losses all three times he's strayed above domestic level, and I don't believe that he should be strongly favoured to destroy anyone who has recently proven they can operate with success on the Euro scene, with Hammer being one of those guys. Also don't forget that Price even got dropped against Pala and lost rounds to Zavorotnyi.
True but Hammer is short for a current heavyweight, he's not a particularly hard puncher and he's not defensively cute either. Price has a lot of flaws but power isn't one of them. If Wach could knock Hammer out cold and Fury can stop him- I think there's a good chance Price would.

Hammer isn't that much different stylistically to Sexton and has similar size and Price iced him. He's only really struggled with guys that were 6"4 upwards really upto now.
Have you learned your lesson with Price now? He's just not that good....

Hammer is at EBU level, and that's a step too far for Price

I know I said Hammer was woefully underrated in this thread, and then picked Price to beat him in another. You said I was wrong...you were right :TU:

Hammer is STILL underrated, and whatever I thought Price had left, he has nothing left. Hammer really only has one loss as far as his prime goes. I'm interested to see what's next for him. He's a level below Fury of course, but the rest of the division is wide open full of unproven monsters.

By fight time I can't see how anyone would have gone with Price. His weight for his two warm-up fights was ridiculous, and he took the same 270+ pounds into the ring against Hammer. Naturally, he gassed out.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hammer vs Granat.

Hammer will probably have a good position with the WBO in the next set of rankings, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Parker-Fury winner views him as a relatively safe option.

I believe he is next in line for the winner of Parker/Fury. They talked about it after the fight with Price. Him and Granat would be a good fight, but I'm not sure it makes business sense for either at this point.

The Heavyweight Division has enough good fighters who haven't fought each other... Let's not worry about Teper, Hammer, Price, and guys of that caliber

Yes sir the Hammer/Price fight was a WBO eliminator. He is either next in line for a title shot or a final eliminator vs someone else highly ranked (probably Haye/Bellew winner)...
