Re: WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Hughie Fury

Hughie Fury needs to become a Top 20 contender before I'm considering his chances in matchups against titleholders.
Of my uncle didnt have nuts he would be my auntie so whats ur point about if?asdfjkl wrote:Sorry, but I can't remember Stiverne ever winning against anyone out of the US, so how can he even become a serious measurement? Tyson Fury never joined the olympics, if AJ accepted the 50k he would have never joined it either. My point was about prople saying he would box wilders head off,you dont get into the usa boxing squad if u cant box and wilder is a decent boxer as he proved vs stiverne. Hughie would get either blasted out in a few rounds or head boxed off for 9,10 ot 11 rounds then blasted outasdfjkl wrote: Hughie has been pro, so no.
AJ waited to become pro because of the olympics, he has been offered 50k before the olympics, but refused.
Stiverne was wbc champ when wilder fought him and he got a boxing lesson thats the messurement, when you beat the wbc champ of the world then ur the wbc champ its as simple as that. Oh and tell me who hughie has fought and beat to even suggest he will.beat wilder let alone give him a boxing lesson?asdfjkl wrote:Sorry, but I can't remember Stiverne ever winning against anyone out of the US, so how can he even become a serious measurement? The point is that you think achieving bronze at the olympics is something special, while in fact it isn't.thechump wrote: Of my uncle didnt have nuts he would be my auntie so whats ur point about if?
Stiverne received a free easy shot because Vitali retired. So it became either that bum, or the other bum. And Wilder received an easy shot against the winner of that bumfight.thechump wrote:Stiverne was wbc champ when wilder fought him and he got a boxing lesson thats the messurement, when you beat the wbc champ of the world then ur the wbc champ its as simple as that. Has hughie fury got an olympic medal? NO who is WBC champ at heavyweight? Wilder he has had 3 defences of the title and i bet arreola (the one u call bum) would beat hughie fury. Who has hughie fury faced never mind beat who has he faced?? He has a string of bums on his record so dont know why ur so uptight on me mentioning wilder can boxasdfjkl wrote:The point is that you think achieving bronze at the olympics is something special, while in fact it isn't.thechump wrote: Of my uncle didnt have nuts he would be my auntie so whats ur point about if?

To be fair Hughie hasn't really done anything to suggest he could operate at the top level. I'm not saying he couldn't, I'm just saying that he needs to prove he can. It's really not that difficult. He just needs to start fighting above the level he has. If he wants to jump to Wilder then fine, but if he gets banged out, we learn nothing. I would advise him to get in the British mix maybe. Why isn't he targeting the British title? There's some good fights out there.thechump wrote:Whats with the wow? Look who arreola has been in with compared to HUGHIE fury. Or maybe that's what the see his worth as? Doubt they were offering Price much more. Don't forget Hughie is still barely top 40 HW.PredatorHayds wrote:Just seen Matchroom offered Hughie the Dec 10th AJ fight but only offered him 200k.
Shocking offer that makes me thing Matchroom don't fancy sticking AJ in with him anytime soon.
The fact he's called Fury alone ups his value. And it's a far better fight than Molina.Rob3_142 wrote:Or maybe that's what the see his worth as? Doubt they were offering Price much more. The casual fan does not know who Hughie Fury is. He is not a highly ranked HW. And his personality is polar opposite of Tyson Fury.BitPlayer wrote:The fact he's called Fury alone ups his value. Offering that little is just greed, cowardice or both.
To be fair to Hearn (who I give stick to quite a bit) - how much should Hughie be offered? He hasn't exactly got a huge profile and he's not beaten anyone of any particular note (neither has Joshua I know but he's in the driving seat commercially) - now if Eddie had tried making that same offer to Tyson then it would legitimately outrageous. In these circumstances though- I don't think it's a particularly bad offer.PredatorHayds wrote:Just seen Matchroom offered Hughie the Dec 10th AJ fight but only offered him 200k.

Not all boxers get paid millions. Spitzka only got 250k for fighting Wilder. Christ, Danny Williams only got 125k for fighting Tyson , that's before deductions/costs. Remember him saying he took home about 35k.Rob3_142 wrote:The casual fan does not know who Hughie Fury is. He is not a highly ranked HW. Yeah the name is there, but that's all there is. He was offered what he was offered because that's all he's worth at the moment. He will not get 200k anywhere else. At least Molina has been in there with some top class HW's. It at least gives Joshua a yardstick.
Hughie may well be worth much more in the not too distant future, but he needs to be a bit more relevant by creating ripples from inside of the ring. To suggest they only offered him 200k because they are scared of him is absolutely absurd.
250k is a huge amount of money and would of been Hughies biggest payday.lefty wrote:To be fair to Hearn (who I give stick to quite a bit) - how much should Hughie be offered? I think if Hughies fights and beats a few top 30's, he's only going to greatly increase his stock, and increase his earning potential.PredatorHayds wrote:250k is a huge amount of money and would of been Hughies biggest payday.lefty wrote:To be fair to Hearn (who I give stick to quite a bit) - how much should Hughie be offered? It's not a big payday when the guy in the other corner is getting between 3-5 million based on PPV buys.
I think he'd of probably accepted around 600k. Based on the surname and the future financial value of a Hughie Fury name on Joshua's record he's worth way more than 200k for this fight.
Don't forget this fight would of made a AJ-Tyson fight bigger it's like free promotion.
I'm sure Matchroom fancy beating Hughie but it doesn't seem a risk they fancy taking. Don't forget Hughie has NEVER fought 100% healthy and his level is impossible to judge.
