All about the weight..... 6 months ago Brook wins but now the weight thing bothers me if he was killing himself before to make it he would have to cut a leg off now ( pardon the pun )

Brooks timing is still very much underrated. He would have plenty of opportunities to counter Spence. Brook by late KO.

He will need to give up his mandatory position then.
Or win purse bids?
If Spence is as good as he looks, he should have no problem coming to the UK.

He's said numerous times that he's willing to come to the UK to fight Brook.
And you claimed recently that "Brook wants nothing of Spence".

Why not?

If he wants the title, he'll go wherever he has to to get it.

Spence is spoken about as if he's the second coming, so, if he is, why should something as inconsequential as getting on an aeroplane & challenging for a world title overseas bother him so much?

Crawford came over here and so did Timothy Bradley. I also would not be shocked if Hearn tried to make this a PPV fight.

Spence looks good but still in the "lots to prove" category, for me.

As ever, that doesn't mean he won't go on to prove himself, he may very well be a special fighter and future p4p top 5 type but I'll reserve my judgement until he beats the likes of Brook
I know what your saying but apart from porter who has kell beat who is WORLD CLASS? I dont rate him as the top welter out ther id put thurman garcia spence pacman bradley and even porter above him in the division based on who they have fought and beat
I said it during the rbr thread at the time and when I re watched it the following day.

I did not have Brook winning that fight I had it Porter 115-113

Yeah in terms of welterweight rankings I would certainly have manny, Bradley, Thurman and At a push maybe Garcia ahead of Brook.

It just infuriated me during the sky build up by them labelling Brook no 1 at welterweight
To be fair to Sky they were following the lead of Ring Magazine. He is right amongst the best and I don't think you can put any one man at #1 when there are so many matches to be made amongst them.

Aaah knew someone would mention that :D But if they followed Ring Magazine then they wouldn't have been banging on about GGG being p4p no1.

For me Manny is no argument the no1 at welterweight.

Some of the magazine rankings are so bad eg boxing monthly have AJ higher than Wlad and Callum a smith higher than Badou Jack FFS.

I would have thurman or pacman as no.1 in the division. Its a tough division but brook still hasnt fought anyone near the top of the division other than porter,he cashed out with the GGG fight knowing it would burst him into the public eye world wide and if by chance he won he would be a superstar of boxing. If he beats errol spence i will change my opinion on him as a present top 5 WW

I'll be honest if there was an easy fight for him at Light Middle for a belt I reckon he would have took it.

Totally.

Khan's barely had a career at 147: he's either been lying idle, chasing & avoiding big fights, or going after the 155lb title, now he's idle again, yet he's the number 1 contender? :oo

Im losing interest in titles now,i used to think it was big thing to win a world title but these days ther giving them away. To be no.1 contender for the supposedly no.1 belt out ther when u havent even beat a top ten WW is ridiculous he barely beat algieri and beat collazo gave an old alexndar a boxing lesson and struggled with julio diaz and on top of that got splatted by canelo at a weight were he should never be especially when he has a chin like a papadum

I'd make Manny #1 in the division. His recent clear win over Bradley is the divisions best win amongst fighters by a million miles.

Sky don't follow anyones lead, like every promoter or media outlet, they promote and big up any fighter when it is in their financial interests to do so

Hence Luis King Kong Ortiz is now literally being touted as a 28 foot, 7 tonne Gorilla

Hearn did say he'd happily make Brook Spence in the UK for the 147 strap and that it'd be 75-25 split...

Would Spence come to UK for a 25% split??? Don't see it myself

"In an ideal world, he would unify the division against Manny Pacquiao, but the Spence fight is also one that really excites him and fight fans. That could be a big fight here in the UK and with the 75-25 split in place we would be very confident of bringing that fight to Sheffield."

Probably because with a false bid, they could bid £2m and pay each £500,000.

Been plenty of examples of fighters moving back down in weight to then get pole axed. It's not always a smart move.

If Brook is as good as he was at the weight? Love to see it
