Froch is a naturally bigger man, and definitely solid, I doubt GGG is going to hit him any harder than the biggest punchers he faced.
I doubt it will happen, but you never know, Froch is an arrogant so and so (I am a big fan) and imagine the cachet of saying "I knocked out GGG in front of 80,000 at....etc" If the money is right, it will appeal to him on a number of levels.
if he did, and won, what a career he would have had!

He's had rhinoplasty, i'm sure he's not the first fighter to have that and continue with a career.
He looks better and he can use a Vicks inhaler now as well.

Hopefully not as bad as Mickey Rourke

I wish Froch would shut up about this fight if he has no intention of taking it. This fight would piss all over the dross we get served up now, bloody Joshua and Kell Brook and the Smith brothers, Haye's pathetic "comeback". This IS a proper PPV fight, a Wembley fight. The touts can have my money. I'm getting out the credit card and going ringside: devils dandruff and shampoo and a bird on my arm.
It's not going to happen, so why bang on about it? Froch is one of my favorites but this is boring now.

If he'd walk through GGG why would you want him to stay retired? Wouldn't it be an excellent win for him and couldn't he just go back to commentary with some new material?
I'd be all over the fight if I were a Froch fan and thought he'd beat Golovkin like that...it would be a huge night if he pulled it off.
My concern would be if he wins, then it could lead to other blockbusters against De Gale,Ward, Kovalev etc etc and when does his career stop. There is no point taking punishment when you don't need to.

If Froch came back and won would he go above Calzaghe in the post-war Brits list?
My current top 3 are
Lewis
Calzaghe
Buchanan
I can't see him coming back but the thought of enhancing his legacy must appeal to him.

Even though GGG came out with a very un-GGG tweet in the aftermath, it's pretty obvious Hearn & Loeffler were taking the piss by mentioning this fight. Hearn had his tie wrapped around his head FFS!

Yes, when he had that momentum it was the right time.
Doubt he can go through that pain barrier ever again.

Whoever runs Golovkin twitter you mean? It wasn't him, the English was too good.

I think his stock will rise as time goes on regardless of getting hammered by GGG. He could have given the man all he could handle when active but no way he can now. Hope it doesn't happen.

His record and willingness to travel and rematch people puts froch over calzaghe for me legacy wise. Not saying he's a better fighter, but he fought a murderers row and wasn't afraid to lose.

I had to laugh at GGGs tweet. "Your another clown who talks too much without actually stepping up to do things". Maybe you should check out his record mate, then compare it to your own. "Don't judge who is credible or not" ok GGG, you have carte blanche to defend against whoever you like no questions asked. I'm starting to want to see him beat tbh.

Good point when Froch has taken on champions from middle, super middle and light heavyweight.
Froch often seems indecisive in interviews. After Groves 1 he said he wouldn't give him a rematch. But did give him it. He said he wanted to rematch both Bute and Pascal in Canada. And Ward, in England. All the talk of Golovkin, when he decided he didn't have it anymore while hitting the bags and was ready to focus on being a family man. None of them happened.
Although I can understand the frustration of Golovkin in securing a high profile opponent, this is nothing Hagler and Hopkins didn't experience. Maybe Golovkin should have risen a weight class from 160 to 168 anyway, for other big fights. As Sergio Martinez did to gain a serious career lift when he couldn't get big fights.

Froch would smash GGG up, Golovkin looks super human because he's fighting at a low level. Could you imaging froch wasting his time fighting junior Witter in his prime?
When GGG moves out of his comfort zone to face one of the super middle top boys then we will find his level out.

I wonder why Froch didnt move out of his comfort zone at 168. Fights with Kov and prime, champ Adonis wouldve been very interesting.
Did he not like his chances at a higher weight, even though he wouldve been giving up less size at 175 than GGG would be at 168? Kov and Stevenson wouldve probably been his top wins if he pulled them off....

He did the weight with ease so why disadvantage yourself against naturally bigger men? Plus there was more money at SMW than lhw.
Stevenson moved up when they were in talks didn't he?

Uh, cos he relied on toughness, and a tough man at 168 isn't such a tough man at 175?

I don't think he really had an opportunity to, he kept his career busy with the super six, the rematch with Kessler, pounding Bute who was the main target for the smw, and the two fights with groves. The big fights and high ranked opponents were always there for froch, where as what concerns me with GGG is that he is for some reason hanging about in a less lucrative division hoping to land the canelo fight which isn't any closer to happening, rather than moving up and facing the money men. AA, Groves, Degale, jack, the dirrell brothers, Ramirez, smith, all top draw well paying fights what's he messing around with the middle weight for?
I don't think Adonis would have faced froch.
Kovalev is a different animal, he wouldn't turn down a fight with anyone. I don't personally see how froch could have beaten him if he moved up.

Don't get the idea Froch should have moved up to LHW, he was walking around not much more than SMW, he had big fights there why fight someone like Stevenson when he could be chasing Ward or Kessler? Froch would have been seriously had for Golovkin and his natural size advantage could have been the decider but that ain't happening now and not sure why he would want/need it. Much as I found him annoying I'd say he doesn't owe anyone anything at all so just keep happy and healthy.

I honestly wouldn't rule out Froch beating Kovalev. He wouldn't be favourite, but if Ward and Chilemba can adapt to his power and last 12 rounds, I don't see why Froch couldn't. And with Kovalev not looking particularly good in the second half of fights (imo), I could see Froch taking over after some early scares.
Like I said, I still wouldn't make Carl favourite, but I don't think Kovalev is the unstoppable monster that he's made out to be. And I learnt a long time ago never to write off Carl Froch.

I think the issue would be Carl would be taking those shots all night. Ward took very few really and was rocked to his boots when he dropped him.

Chilemba and Ward are negative defensive fighters....Froch not so much.
Kov isn't an unstoppable monster, although the people who liked Ward's chances of dominating and stopping him probably weren't giving him enough credit. You'd think they'd come out of the fight with much higher opinions of Kov...

I'd actually like to see Mikkel Kessler come back and fight GGG.
I'd pick him to win if he was somewhere close to his previous form.
The reality is that it's Abel Sanchez & Tom Loeffler whom are doing all the talking....not GGG whom has always stated he wants to unify and rule middleweight.
He's gained a lot of exposure by those two throwing out GGG's name against everyone from 154 to 168.
Mayweather, Canelo, Ward, Froch - you name it. It's a strategy.
