Lol, so basically you're banning any non mandatory title defenses.

If any fight deserved a rematch its this one,i think rematch clause should be scrapped if its a k.o or an absolute schooling but a fight this close 114-113 on all cards is deserved of a rematch. Fury and klitschko didnt deserve a rematch cause none of them turned up to fight that night.

Ward should have been forced to fight clean instead of his head-first lunges followed by a clinch and rabbit punches.
Who wants to see a rematch of that?
GGG would never have let him go away with it as Kovalev did. He can use an uppercut and has much better balance.

Odd timing. If any fight called for an immediate rematch, it's this one. A well fought, disputed decision where neither fighter suffered significant damage for postponement.
What's killed boxing is the lack of competitive fights, lack of rivals and overall difficulties of getting two top opponents in the ring. Now that we've finally had one top matchup again, there's a call for banishment? Strange.

well because of the rematch clause we ended up with the heavyweight titles being further fragmented

If Fury hadn't gone full retard then it wouldn't matter. Blame the fighter in this case.

I don't mind a rematch clause for a long reigning Champion, and I don't think it does the sport any harm.

There's a rematch clause for every voluntary defense and there has been for ages.
