Not sure how you're collating your figures. As for royalties, depends on what contract he signed. I don’t really watch him but I think Bellew has the power to cause a stoppage against David Haye, in theory, but the rub is that Haye can definitely stop Bellew, pretty much as soon as he lands.
Re: Bellew has NO chance against Haye
U think he signed up to play the opponent for 25k? I’d be amazed if he’s not on a deal. I don’t see gazillionaire Sly screwing him over. I’m surprised he got it considering all the Yank boxers.....but tbf if the were looking “overseas” “gobby” and passable “heavy”, the TB ticks boxes. I think because they’ve already been down the Eastern European route that that increased Bellew’s movie prospects. Who gives a fornicate who wins? It's irrelevant to boxing. It's going to be all over mainstream media for the next few months. Please do not let it dominate on here- this place should be for proper boxing discussion

How mauch is overrated Haye... For me, among other things, there is a chance that he will duck this fight, like he did with Fury.

Alec guiness did in star wars, but only because the producers were struggling to pay the actors. Doubt he'd duck Bellew, it was only a couple of years ago he got battered by a blown up super middleweight.geronimo wrote:How mauch is overrated Haye... For me, among other things, there is a chance that he will duck this fight, like he did with Fury.
Re: Bellew has NO chance against Haye
It doesn't mean nothing. If you mean Stevenson, he is a lightheavyweight, not a super middleweight, and is one of the most powerfull light heavyweight in boxing. Then, there are nomeorus reasons to consider:banjo wrote:Doubt he'd duck Bellew, it was only a couple of years ago he got battered by a blown up super middleweight.geronimo wrote:How mauch is overrated Haye... 1) Bellew was "another fighter" back then.
2) The natural class weight of Bellew is cruiser/heavyweight.
3) He beat Makabu with a test of strength. And Makabu is an hard puncher.
4) How many times Haye have been KD's? Do you remember the Lolenga Mock bout? (For me it was also a bad referee decision to stop the fight).
5) Sayng: "Haye has more power then the fighters than Bellew faces", is a simplistic thinking, more reasons have to be explained.
6) I notice that the same speech has been done for the Fury-Haye match: Fury has been knockdowns by weak boxers, Haye will kill him... Then Fury beat an hard puncher and pound for pound boxer like W. Klitschko.
7) Bellew is not a naive boxer, is a world class fighter.
So, this match is more balanced than most people think. The 4th of march we will know who is right.

Re: Bellew has NO chance against Haye
I'm surprised so many of you seem excited about this casuals special.
Haye looked pretty shit in his last two "fights". His legs seem to have gone and he loaded up with everything and missed with a lot of shots.
Bellew has been dropped by Ovill McKenzie down at light heavy and basically shit his pants against Stevenson. He also got dropped by a very average African hype job.
Neither are anywhere near the best of their respective weight categories and neither of them fancy mixing it with the top lads at their weight.
Therefore, I couldnt give a flying fornicate on a Thursday who wins. The aggro between them has been invented and its just a cash cow for casuals to lap up and spend £17.
The contest will be a bore off. Haye won't want to commit because he can be chinny and Bellew will run because he can be chinny.
Let's hope it doesnt dominate proceedings on here for the next few months.

Re: Bellew has NO chance against Haye
It's par for the course these days.
Following on from Alvarez/Khan & Golovkin/Brook this is another supposed mismatch masquerading as a 'big' fight.
The only slight difference is that we don't exactly know where Haye is at the moment thanks to inactivity & him feasting on the walking dead since returning, but if he's anywhere near the level he was at in 2012 & before, he wipes out Bellow with ease.

It’s a lucrative franchise and Bellew just played a major part. It wasn’t a walk-on in Coronation Street matejamesmcdonnell wrote:The fact is, you have absolutely no idea what deal he did. I never even said I knew the answer, it was merely an aside to the fact Bellew is very well off yet is about to take some clubbing hits off David Haye, if the fight goes like many of us think it may. Why do some people get touchy about other people’s money?!

I don't think it'll be quite the same, as Bellew might actually try & hit Haye, unlike Harrison who just stood there like a startled pheasant for a couple of rounds.Anzi wrote:Audley Harrison !gazza8 wrote:Fight will sell to the casuals, many will believe Bellew can win after the hype leading up to the figh, then the same people be moaning when Haye knocks him out in 2 rounds.

It should end even quicker as Haye will spring into action earlier, wary of what might happen if Bellew connects, because we all know that Tony is the hardest puncher in boxing history.

Re: Bellew has NO chance against Haye
not quite the first punch but considering what Haye has done to heavies with good chins it won't take many punches or the most accurate of them to do the job. Bellew clearly thinks Haye is chinny but the evidence isn't there to support it in the way Bellew says. I also don't buy that Bellew hits as hard as a real heavy and Haye has taken some pretty decent shots from big men. Odds massively against Bellew here.gazza8 wrote:Fight will sell to the casuals, many will believe Bellew can win after the hype leading up to the figh, then the same people be moaning when Haye knocks him out in 2 rounds.

Re: Bellew has NO chance against Haye
To answer so many of your questions, Haye hasn't been knocked down that many times and since gassing in that early fight he's got up and won. He has splattered one of the most durable heavies around (Chisora) all over the canvas and bounced genuine big strong guys with decent chins up and down continually. Haye has been operating at heavy for some time and been stopping those guys. Bellew has been operating and light heavy and cruiser and hasn't got a comparable show of power to match Haye v Chisora. As for Haye v Fury, I've been saying for years I wouldn't put Fury anywhere near Haye. Fury has been dropped a couple of times by walking onto overarm rights from shorter guys, Haye is the height that causes Fury trouble but with better speed, power and accuracy than the guys who dropped him. (I'd still by the way back Fury if head right against most of the top heavies, Haye just happens to be wrong for him).geronimo wrote:It doesn't mean nothing. Sorry but Bellew is well out of his depth. i understand sky's reasoning for making this fight(event) and there will be a few gullible punters buying it but it is a total mismatch. this will be like the Audley Harrison fight all over again. The build up will be pantomime at its best but in reality as soon as Haye wants to finish it he will.Rexob wrote:Good fight for bellew here Hayes old and his legs have gone Hayes got a punchers chance.

No way Haye ducks this fight he is too much of a sure thing. Haye only takes fights he is guaranteed to win.geronimo wrote:How mauch is overrated Haye... For me, among other things, there is a chance that he will duck this fight, like he did with Fury.
Re: Bellew has NO chance against Haye
to be fair to Haye, I think he is fighting who he can get to face him and for the money he can pay them, everyone knows he can hit, everyone knows the titles are all over the place, the "top" (ha) heavyweights are hovering around title shots, they're not going to risk those against Haye (just like he's less likely to risk it against them), the next level want silly money to get knocked out by him, leaving the guys he is fighting. Hopefully one thing this means is he has the sense to keep fighting rather than sit on his arse waiting for a title shot, cos the likes of Joshua are definitely going to let him sit inactive until he either retires or is an easier prospect.Muttley wrote:No way Haye ducks this fight he is too much of a sure thing.
