Does anyone still take seriously this clown's opinions?
Mazique says that HBO's Max Kellerman "said he spoke to three people at ringside whose opinion he trusts and they said they had Bradley winning the fight." I wouldn't trust Max Kellerman's judgment if he stood face-to-face with Charlize Theron and called her blonde.

boxing_rocks wrote:117-110 or 116-111 Kovalev is a correct score. If you give ALL close rounds to Ward, it is 114-113 Kovalev.
Having watched the fight twice, I can say witout bias that rounds 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12 are all close rounds. If you scored all those for Ward it would be 115-112 Ward. It was a close fight, the only dodgy scoring was of the 10th round, which unfortunately cost Kovalev the fight.
So being fair, score half of them for ward, and kov wins 116-111. even making it 6-2 ward, gives kov a 115-114 win! That's how lol we're talking with this decision
Not quite right, because Ward very clearly won the 7th round. Split the close rounds and it's 115-112 Kovalev, which I think would be a pretty reasonable scorecard. On first viewing, I had Ward winning 6 of the 8 close rounds, which gave him a 114-113 win on my scorecard.

I do think they are all on script, with the exception of Lederman who scores by Braille. How else could they have choreographed that relay blow job that they so flawlessly executed on Lomassiah last Saturday night?
Why should I care what that bug eyed creep with the wealthy NY doctor daddy with the media connections who got him a tv gig with the rotten crooked tv network says? The boxing analyst Dwyer put it well when he said Kellerman might as well have been wearing a Ward cheerleader shirt on when he was doing the announcing.

If you stop posting annoying crap, I would be less annoying to you.
Singling out Kellerman for his alleged bias during the Krusher telecasts without also pointing out the utter nut huggery of Krusher taking place simultaneously from round 1 on, is disingenuous at best.

I wouldn't say that. Kellerman tends to favor the more technically savvy fighters.
I'd agree with that. He just had the preconceived notion like most that ward was that fighter when in fact it was kovalev that is the better pure boxer.
Kalan wrote:Bullcrap!!! ... Kellerman NEVER said he gave it to Ward on a 2nd viewing... He's a Wardie and he scored it to Kovalev.. The correct score was 117-110 Kovalev. It wasn't close.. You could give Ward the 7th, 9th, and 11th, close rounds, but Kovalev had it bagged from the 6th because Ward wasn't scoring a knockdown.

Yeah maybe. I do think Kellerman knows enough about boxing to see further than the quick flashy fighter.
His knowledge of boxing is about as good as his hip hop.

He's still a fan, gets caught up in it. Ringside seats also suck compared to our TVs.

Look at his eyes; the guy's a junkie and a hack for the in house fighter.
That's precisely why they pay him.
Ha! I've managed to avoid seeing Kellerman in a long time but that is exactly what I said when I first saw his eyes and manic behavior a few years ago! I've dealt with a lot of them so I can pretty much tell right away.

Tell you what I saw, Max at both arena's and from a distance looked stone cold sober and albeit a naïve looking expression on his face like a knowledgeable historian who never had back to back life experiences and read it in a book then told all.
Max is smart as f__k and I respect him to a certain degree he sure can talk the talk.
But you can tell by the passion he speaks of other sports that he's adjusted to sports commentary and you can't say with any certainty he with us, because he'll tell you what you want to hear that's what he's paid for.
He strikes me as scripted and can deliver some lines.
He's well presented dressed immaculately and of the fights I've seen him at shows up around 2-3 fights before the main event, his appearance is exemplary and not as good looking as I am but certainly gives the situation a sense of importance.
Is he fair ?
In response to the thread ... if any boxing fan and that includes Max Kellerman tell's you they saw it another way after the 1st viewing then question their motives.
All opinions are 99.9% based off the original 1st time watch and don't forget that trust me on this one.
I remembered when this dude suddenly showed up as a fight anaylisis on ESPN fights.
From the get-go I figured he knew jack sh*t about boxing and got his job as a favour to a producer or somethin.
it was like someone explaing something to me that didn't know half of what I already knew.
the twit.

Didn't his dad donate a ton of fight film to ESPN and that's how he got on? He really knows jack about boxing, throwing in a few tag words now and then to sound smart. There's a small disconnected section of the gym I manage that has no music so folks can hear the televisions. Max was on some kind of general sports show that I'd never watch on my own and they were discussing Kobe Bryant and Max Kellerman said something like "When Kobe shoots his shoulders move a little like Muhammad Ali". I was like wtf? What did that have to do with anything? Then later he made some inane comment comparing a baseball player to Archie Moore . He tries so hard to sound well versed.
