I would've scored 10/8 for Butters, even tho no knockdown. Bell saved Rocky :-P

I would have only gone 10/9. Rocky had good parts in the middle of the round but he was lucky the round didn't go any longer. Definitely worth a case for 10/8 but just by watching that round on my phone, I wouldn't have went that wide. Good action packed round. Butters is a strong, good fighter.

Yeah Foxy, but as you know, scoring blow is a punch landed on the scoring part of the body, such being neither deflected nor partially blocked and Rocky's punches didn't quite meet that.

I think, in next fight of significance, I'll recruit 3 registered judges from different State, who are willing to view the fight via Stream/TV and SMS their score after each round and see how they see it. I'll only declare their final score, location & not name them.

Yeah I see your point. I've been doing some judging in the amateurs, and if the fighter wins the round clearly, they advise you to score 10/8. I know it's the same in the pros. I still would have went 10/9 but can understand anyone scoring it 10/8.

Thanks for posting Goosey.
Shocking scoring from all three judges, especially Tony Marretta with 113-115.
Would have been a travesty if Jerkic had wound up getting the decision.
Butters deserved at least 116-112 on all three cards.
Anyone's guess where Rocky goes from here.

If judging, here's how judges seen it

1. Rocky all 3 cards
2. Butters all 3
3. Butters all 3
4. Butters all 3
5. Butters all 3
6. Rocky on 2
7. Butters all 3
8. Butters all 3
9 > 12 Rocky on all 3

Anthony Buttigieg's thoughts on his Commonwealth Title win :

“People are calling it an upset, but my team and myself never saw the fight that way, I beat him convincingly.”

“It wasn’t an upset in my eyes – I felt he just crumbled under the pressure – I was surprised. He had a great record with twelve knockouts and I was conscious of that. But from the first round, I felt in control. There was just no point in the fight where I felt worried at all.”

“I felt he had a bit of power when he clipped me around the ears in round one and I thought he was quite strong. But I kept my defence up and stayed on my game, stuck to my plan and it worked. After the fight, I felt like I won ten of the twelve rounds.”

“Both the rounds he won were because I had a rest. I just don’t feel like he was ever in control of the fight at any stage.”

“I was disappointed with the decision. I’m not angry, I’m just a bit disappointed. That’s my fifth split decision now in my career and I think most of them I was winning, but I’m not going to complain about it.”

“In the end I got what I came for and got the win.”

“I definitely want to defend the title and keep going.”

I watched the first 9 rounds only and scored it 89-83 Buttigieg (7-1-1). I thought Jerkic had enough moments in the 8th to make it 10-9 rather than 10-8.

So Buttigieg would win 116-113 on my card even if all the remaining rounds went against him 10-9.

Buttigieg outclassed and exposed Jerkic big time. Anybody that applies constant pressure to Jerkic will beat him wide.
