True, punchoutsb, my next thread will ask which fights WERE NOT robberies in 2016. It will require evidence to prove a fight WAS NOT a robbery :OhYes:

I can sum that thread up in one sentence: Every fight was a robbery and it's all Floyd Mayweathers fault for ruining boxing forever.

I find it laughable that people think Briggs, undeserving shot fighter who isn't ranked in the Top 20 is being ducked. It's not that he's being ducked, it's that he doesn't deserve the opportunities he's asking for, and everybody he's calling out has bigger fish to fry.

Gary Russell is 1 of the most ducked fighters in the world... Featherweight Champions: Mares, Cuellar, Santa Cruz, Frampton, and Selby should already be on his list of KO victims -- but they won't fight him... He's had 1 fight this year and 1 fight last year because he can't find appropriate opponents...

I'm reading a bit about Russell Jr being ducked but is he?

LSC is a 3 weight world champion, has spent just over a year in the division, hardly an age!
And in that time he's had a settling in fight, won a title against Mares, defended against a solid challenger in Martinez and defended against Frampton. That's not bad going and he's now got a deserved and necessary rematch with Frampton. These are not the actions of a ducker. Perhaps Russell Jr is just not the best option for him at this point?

Frampton, this year, has had a British super fight in a unification at super bantam, then stepped up straight into a title fight and won against Santa Cruz, he now has a rematch to look forward to. The most lucrative and challenging match ups for these two guys were each other. No ducking to see here

Vasyl Lomachenko beat him in his 3rd pro fight, left the division. No ducking to see here

Jhonny Gonzalez faced him, lost his title No ducking to see here

Oscar Valdez, 25 year old, only just arrived at world level, plenty of time, No ducking to see here

Mares, 3 weight world champion faced some of the best, won and lost titles at feather weight, faced De leon, Gonzalez, Santa Cruz and Cuellar, No ducking to see here

Cuellar, Ok with him he's been at world level of sorts for over 3 years and Marez is his best opponent to date, Perhaps he could have fought Russell Jr. Has Russell Jr been calling him out?

Selby, again not setting the world alight since winning a belt just over a year ago. Has Russell Jr been chasing him?

See over here, when we have a fighter like Rusell Jr or Spence not getting the big fights the ones we question are the fighters themselves.

Brook defends against Jojo Dan, Frankie Gaving and Bizier, we given him stick, we don't shout from the roof tops that everyones ducking him
but Americans seem to think everyone is ducking their top fighters, Russell Jr, Andrade, Charlo, Spence etc. Is it possible their management are steering them down an easy route that doesn't involve the high risk fights?

With Russell, like Andrade, he needs to get out there and fight, fight some ranked opponents, fight a mandatory. Get active, get paid, get known and have everyone demanding the fights you need

For me the top guys in the division are Frampton and LSC. They don't need him and they very possibly beat him
Valdez possibly beats him too

Likes of Selby has easy options in the IBF ranking and in Frampton, Quigg and Warrington he has some lucrative domestic paydays to aim for, he doesn't need Russell.

Russell needs to put himself in the possition where he is the best option and everyone is screaming for the best to face him

It's the entire structure of boxing which drives the force in which we've coined "ducking". The padded records; the lack of one governing authority; multiple greedy promotions... Would be nice if it could be repaired. But, it may be to the point of no return.

Too true.

Briggs is easy meat for the top guys, but he brings nothing to the party, part from WWE style antics during press conferences.

The HW division isn't the best & it could & should be a lot better, but it left Briggs behind a long time ago.

BULLCRAP!!! It's easy to say "just fight anyone", but there's a major problem when guys like Spence, Beterbiev, GGG, and Russell fight dogs... Russell had 1 fight this year in April, versus a 31-1 guy who he smashed out in 2 rounds... I don't think he was trying to finish him that fast, but the man can't fight.. Jhonny Gonzalez couldn't hang last year.. It's a waste of time.. Nobody was very excited about seeing it, so people say, "This kid can box and punch like crazy but he can't draw flies!!!" ... Right!!!! Flies have more common sense than to buy a stinko mismatch like some fans will.

Algieri was supposed to be durable... but it was inevitable that Spence would smash him up and batter him out early... It was half interesting bu still NC.

And who wants to watch Beterbiev smash an unknown nobody in a minute??? He couldn't hold this guy up... Who wants to see GGG fight Dominic Wade??? It's ridiculous.. Who wants to see Ortiz chase a survival mode Malik Scott around the ring for 12 rounds of non-action??? Bryant Jennings got destroyed, but at least Jennings brought more action in each round than Scott ever did during 12 rounds of dreary running and never fighting.

This time GGG didn't take an interim fight... It's a waste... It took Triple-G 7 years to corner the top Middleweights, but now I think he can reel them in 1 by 1... It's pathetic the best fighters can't land the top opponents in their weight classes -- and part of it is ignorant fans accepting 2nd rate non-fights.

There is an old (cliché) saying, "use it or lose it."

3G is no longer the most ducked, btw.

He was for many years, starting with Sergio Martinez... Everything comes to him who waits, but if you're the best fighter in your division you shouldn't have to wait around to fight the best for many years -- while duckers fight each other and strategically duck you to avoid getting knocked out.
